Karoline Leavitt Could Step Up Her Style Game By Doing One Simple Thing
Karoline Leavitt, President Donald Trump's press secretary, assumed the position in January 2025 and has been an ongoing topic of cultural and political conversation ever since. For one, she's the youngest appointed press secretary to date, starting at the job at 27-years-old. Secondly, her husband, Nicholas Riccio, is 32 years older than she is, and so we just can't ignore these glaring red flags in Leavitt's relationship. Nonetheless, Leavitt has expressed appreciation over how supportive her husband is of her career, so she gets a lot of support from home.
But Leavitt has garnered attention for other reasons, too. Since she is, essentially, a key face of Trump's presidency, her outward appearance is another facet of her persona. Leavitt has suffered some big makeup mistakes that were hard to ignore, and Leavitt has also worn some outfits that have totally missed the mark. But lately people are also noticing that Leavitt consistently wears really drab, lifeless colors that end up aging her look. We want to see her experiment with a wider range of color palettes; hopefully she can find tones that infuse her wardrobe with a little more life.
Karoline Leavitt keeps wearing bland colors that wash her out
We can't figure out why Karoline Leavitt consistently wears the most drab colors. The young press secretary frequently steps out in tones that wash her out and simultaneously age her. On April 1, 2025, she arrived for the press briefing at the White House to discuss the "Liberation Day" tariffs proposed by President Donald Trump, and her outfit was as bland as a bowl of oatmeal. She wore a beige pantsuit with a simple, white shirt and literally no other embellishments. Her color choices are simply too light for her.
Unfortunately, that theme continued for the following week. On April 8, 2024, she wore an off-white blazer and black slacks. On April 11, 2025, she wore a grey boucle sweater with black buttons. On April 15, she wore a black shift dress. Not only are the cuts and clothing styles aging, but the colors are too muted. Leavitt has rich, golden blonde hair and could easily get away with bolder tones. On her Instagram page, it's clear that she likes wearing bright colors when off-duty; as numerous photographs show her in reds, blues, lime greens, and pinks. These lively tones look lovely on her, and we hope to see her incorporating more of her personality at work. Our best guess is that she's still new to the job of being the press secretary, and might want to get acclimated before she brings more dazzle to the podium.
