Here's What Went Down With Tania Speaks Organic Skincare After Shark Tank

Tania Speaks is one of the most inspiring young entrepreneurs in the skincare game today. Speaks' inspiring story has gained attention from all over the world, as she turned one of her biggest insecurities into a million-dollar business — Tania Speaks Organic Skincare. Ever since she was young, Speaks was bullied over her bushy eyebrows, which inspired her at the age of just 15 to create a brow gel that was all organic and would help to tame them. She named the flagship product The Original Organic Eyebrow Gel, and, after seeing a whole lot of success with it, she went on to change up and expand her business beyond brows to create her own line of organic skincare products.

"I am known for overcoming bullying, inspiring others, and starting a successful business as a teen," Speaks explained to VoyageMIA in 2021. "As a brand, I am most proud of the transparency and connections I make with my customers as well as the organic quality and integrity of my products. My brand is reliable, affordable, and easy to use." And it's that authenticity and determination that saw Speaks go far when she took her already thriving business on "Shark Tank."

Tania Speaks blew Mark Cuban away on Shark Tank

When Tania Speaks went in front of the sharks during Season 14, Episode 12 of "Shark Tank" (which aired in January 2022), she caught the eye of none other than Mark Cuban. Despite the then 19-year-old's obvious impressive business credentials and determination, Cuban was the only one who invested in the business after his fellow sharks admitted they didn't think the beauty company was right for them. Cuban, though, offered the young hopeful $400,000 for 20% of her business, but savvy businesswoman Speaks hit back with a bold counteroffer of 15%. Cuban agreed — but on one condition. He told Speaks that he wanted her to have a meeting and share her entrepreneurial skills with his daughters (the star shares three children with his wife, Tiffany Stewart, son Jake and daughters Alexis and Alyssa). "I want [my daughters] to meet you, and I want them to learn from you. Maybe you'll even learn something from them," Cuban told Sparks at the time.

And it seems like the up-and-coming businesswoman was more than happy with how things went down on the ABC show. "I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. They even said I would sit there one day and be a Shark. That's the highest compliment I've ever had," she said.

What happened after Shark Tank

After "Shark Tank," Tania Speaks Organic Skincare appeared to go from strength to strength. Prior to appearing on "Shark Tank," the business had amassed an impressive annual revenue of $1.4 million ($700,000 of which Speaks was able to keep for herself) and it sounds like she kept on bringing in an impressive cashflow after the show too — with a little help from Mark Cuban, of course. "Mark has been an amazing mentor. If I send him an email any time of the day, he'll respond," Speaks told Byrdie of how hands-on the businessman has been in helping her grow her company. "I've been so busy after 'Shark Tank,' and my story resonated with so many people, and they immediately ran to support me. Mark's been very helpful when I'm stressed out and don't know what to do."

The then-teen entrepreneur also shared her excitement at getting Cuban on board on Instagram. "This has been such a monumental experience. When starting my journey, I never imagined being in the same room, let alone making a deal. This is beyond what I could have asked for. I am extremely grateful!" she captioned a snap of herself and Cuban on the show. "Thank you everyone for all of the support and kind words. If you think you have a plan, it's always going to be bigger than you! This is only the beginning."

Tania Speaks Organic Skincare is still going strong

As of July 2023, Tania Speaks Organic Skincare is very much still in business. The company's official website proudly boasts on the homepage "As seen on 'Shark Tank,'" and it offers a wide array of different skincare products available to purchase. Amongst them? The product that started it all, The Original Organic Eyebrow Gel. Speaks' brand also offers an organic resurfacing toner, moisturizer, foaming cleanser, and even beard oil. For those looking to try a little bit of everything, there's also a tester set containing the cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. That means you can easily give 2023's biggest skincare trends a go with a few newbies in your routine!

There's no doubt the company has more than likely seen a boost from its "Shark Tank" publicity too. The episode brought in an impressive 4.2 million viewers, which is a whole lot of new eyeballs checking out Tania Speaks Organic Skincare. According to Fashioneur, Speaks now has a net worth of an estimated $2.6 million and could pocket upwards of $20,000 every month.

One thing Speaks has shied away from since the episode aired is social media. Though her organic skincare (which is different to clean skincare, remember!) business is still going, she hasn't updated the company's official Instagram account since her January 2022 "Shark Tank" appearance, nor has she posted on her own public Instagram account.

What will Tania Speaks do next?

It seems like with her social media hiatus, Tania Speaks has been keeping her cards close to her chest when it comes to what's next for her and Tania Speaks Organic Skincare, but we have no doubt with her determination and dedication to hard work that the brand will only keep on expanding. After all, according to a LinkedIn page that appears to belong to Speaks, the entrepreneur not only spent her time working hard on her business after appearing on the show but on her education, too! Proving she really is dedicated to always bettering herself, the account lists her as being a Bachelor's student at Hofstra University in Maryland from 2018 until 2022, suggesting she graduated after going in front of the sharks.

That's why we're certain Speaks and her business will only continue to thrive, with the star more than likely creating new skincare products using her natural talent for innovation. "Everybody asks me, 'Are you a chemist? The way that you're doing this, you would think that you have some background in chemistry.' But I don't — maybe it's just a gift," Speaks admitted to PopSugar. "It's a combination of research and then trial and error. I'm a great researcher, and I don't give up on things."
