Prior to becoming a freelance writer, Sherdell got her start as a writer for her university's Her Campus chapter, where she was a campus correspondent and wrote lifestyle and beauty stories, educating readers on how to navigate their beauty routines and Hollywood's latest movie releases. Since this humble beginning, her work has appeared in Blavity, REVOLT, Essence GU, and EBONY, where she's been able to cover celebrity news and amplify advice-centered content for life's tough decision-making moments. Sherdell's years of freelancing led her to a philanthropic role at Emboldy, where she volunteers as editor-in-chief, building out their editorial direction to provide educational content for early-career women.
Education
Sherdell received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Hampton University. She is currently in pursuit of her master's in communications with a specialization in media management from Syracuse University's Newhouse School Online.
