What Laurie From The Partridge Family Looks Like Decades After The Show

"The Partridge Family" is possibly one of the most unforgettable family sitcoms that dominated the '70s, with a talented cast to boot. And one of them was Susan Dey, who portrayed the beautiful and charming Laurie Partridge from 1970 to 1974. After the show ended, her star continued to rise with the hit series "L.A. Law," even bagging a Golden Globe in 1989 for her performance as the irresistible Grace Van Owen. But after withdrawing from the public eye (and with the public's general interest in how celebrities look), it's understandable to wonder what Susan Dey looked like decades after "The Partridge Family" wrapped up filming.

Dey keeps a relatively low profile these days, and at the time of writing, one of the latest pictures of the actor is one that was taken back in 2007 when she was 54 years old. Here she is pictured beside her husband, Bernard Sofronski, and she looked absolutely stunning. Her skin looked flawless and dewy, and she is likely one of the celebs confronting aging with confidence.

The six-time Golden Globe nominee kept her hair in a chin-length hairstyle that's considered one of the most flattering haircuts for women over 50. She also wore a simple yet elegant black dress, pairing it with stylish shades and a matching handbag. Dey appeared to be content with life away from the spotlight, and she's not shy to say why she chose to retire in 2004.

Although she loved acting, Susan Dey had a difficult time in Hollywood

Despite all the accolades and success she garnered as an actor, Susan Dey had a tough time in the glare of the spotlight. The three-time Emmy nominee never enjoyed the extreme scrutiny from the press that came with fame. What's worse, Dey was also battling an eating disorder during her "The Partridge Family" days, and her private struggle with alcoholism was leaked to the media. To add to her strife, she had a public rift with her former "The Partridge Family" co-star, David Cassidy, which resulted in a breakdown in their relationship.

After 2004, Dey called it quits and left Hollywood for good. She leads a much more peaceful existence away from the cameras with her husband, Bernard Sofronski. In fact, Dey has been devoting her time to selfless, charitable work, such as taking active part in the MARK Project dedicated to building up the community in the Catskills. Despite this, Dey confessed that the thought of returning to acting has crossed her mind. "I miss acting as much as I miss my mom..." Dey shared (per Woman's World). "But I'm really happy with what's going on in my life right now. It's full. It's so full."
