Remember Heather Webber On General Hospital? Here's What She Looks Like Now
Robin Mattson remains a defining icon of daytime soap operas, turning heads for her unforgettable performance as the villainous Heather Webber on "General Hospital." She played Heather so well, in fact, that she scored a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the role in 1983. Although Mattson also found further success on other soaps like "All My Children" and "Santa Barbara," there's no denying her more than 40-year periodical on-and-off run as Heather and nefarious antics will always be imprinted on our minds. Mattson officially retired from acting in 2016 but a rare red carpet appearance in 2023 showed us how she looked years after exiting "General Hospital."
Mattson was 67 at the time this picture was taken, and she's definitely aging like fine wine. Her hair was styled in a simple, straight, and stylish cut past her shoulders. And it seems she's one celeb who's embraced her naturally graying hair and chose to work with it, as there's a seamless gradient from gray to ash-blonde, with the inclusion of brown-gold highlights. Moreover, Mattson's bewitching gray eyes and smile have remained as lovely as ever, cementing her place as one of the celebs confronting aging with confidence. While fans lamented the star's "General Hospital" departure, her Instagram posts prove she's enjoying her retirement to the fullest.
Robin Mattson is having the time of her life away from the cameras
Since she stopped acting in 2016, Robin Mattson has clearly been savoring her retirement. Her personal Instagram has been full of life updates, as she documents what she's been up to after leaving the industry. From going out with friends to trying new restaurants with her husband of 20 years, Werner Roth, it's an understatement to say life has been rosy for the talented former actor.
And it appears she's keen on taking full advantage of her free time, as an October 2026 Instagram carousel showed the daytime icon splurging on a vacation to Southeast Asia. "Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Three countries, countless temples, breathtaking scenery, and enough humidity to ruin a perfectly good hairstyle," Mattson wrote in the caption, before finishing with a lighthearted nod to her time on daytime soaps. "Beautiful places, wonderful memories, and thankfully, nobody got killed off in the season finale." Mattson was all smiles and grins as she posed in front of stunning vistas and historical landmarks. But what pushed Mattson to retire in the first place?
With Alley Mills of "The Wonder Years" fame taking over as Heather Webber in 2022, Mattson broke her silence the same year on where she's been. A November 2022 post on Instagram shed light on the fact that the soap veteran had undergone knee surgery, with Mattson adding that it would soon be followed up by hip replacement surgery. It's clear that she has since gone on to make a full recovery, and we're glad to see her prioritize her health and happiness first over career wins.
