The Wonder Years Mom Alley Mills Has Always Been An Absolute Beauty. See The '80s Icon Now
There are many stars in show business that leave fans feeling warm and happy inside, but few could compare to the actor responsible for every '80s child's favorite tv mom: Alley Mills. She charmed audiences with her unforgettable performance as the hardworking yet kind-hearted Norma Arnold on "The Wonder Years" during the show's five-year run from 1988 to 1993. Part of that charm also came from her styling. Against the show's late 1960s setting, Mills was a picture-perfect wholesome homemaker, wearing colorful shift dresses, bouncy, blond, chin-length hair, and a comforting smile.
Decades later, fans will be delighted to learn that Mills is as radiant as ever in her 70s. During an appearance at the 2025 Emmys, she flashed a grin at cameras while posing in a floral patterned gown, complete with matching shoes. The "Bold and the Beautiful" star also rocked her luscious blond hair in an elegant updo with lightly teased volume at the top, while also showing a celeb-approved way to wear wispy bangs.
Fans were over the moon about the appearance. "She looks great here! Yass," wrote one user under her stylist's Instagram post. "She looks beautiful, congratulations Alley," another user commented on Mills' post, alongside several applause emojis. It's heartening to know that along with still captivating with her classy looks, Mills' life has proved just as fulfilling. That evening, she won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series for her work as Heather Webber in "General Hospital," a role she landed in her 70s. But the career milestone isn't the only reason the star is remains as confident as ever.
Alley Mills has become more than content with her life in her 70s
Aside from her continued career success after "The Wonder Years," Alley Mills has had a wonderful life away from the cameras. She found love with fellow actor Orson Bean and married him in 1993, whom she stayed with until his death from a tragic accident in 2020. Yet after seeing the mental health benefits of setting aside time to deal with her grief, Mills revealed that losing her husband has also helped her perceive life differently.
"I don't really care what people think about me anymore," Mills exclusively shared with Woman's World five years after Bean's passing, "I feel free from that. It's really interesting, why being a widow would have given me that freedom." She then added that, despite the loss of her husband, her family life remains as loud and as spirited as ever. Surrounded by her admittedly large family, Mills' life is far from lonely as she regularly holds family get-togethers in her home, discovering there's still more to life after loss.
