The late Dolly Parton was definitely a breath of fresh air, charming others with her sweet wit and charm. And aside from nailing her fashion moments with these iconic Dolly Parton outfits that solidified her status as a style icon, the "Jolene" hitmaker was also renowned for her undeniable and unique beauty. Not only were her makeup looks consistently on point, but her near-flawless skin makes you wonder what the late singer did to look camera-ready at all times.

With the country superstar being noted for her honesty and open-mindedness, Parton never held back when it came to sharing her old school beauty tricks. From perfecting an immaculate lip look to the regime she used to take care of her skin, the 10-time Grammy winner certainly believed in looking your best no matter the hour. And while Parton was definitely one of the older celebs who hasn't played by society's beauty rules, she still took great care of herself through these beauty tips that everyone can use.

Dolly Parton's skincare regimen was no frills, with a lot of moisturization

Surprisingly, Dolly Parton's skincare routine wasn't all that complex. Despite having had access to many brands and products, she always fell back on one tried-and-true method to take care of her skin. And it all goes back to the crucial concept of keeping your skin moisturized. For Dolly Parton, Vaseline is one of the best products on the market, which proves why Vaseline should take up space in your beauty routine.

But aside from good old Vaseline, the "I Will Always Love You" singer had another strange method to keep her skin plump and moisturized. The Almay Longwear & Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Pads was one of Parton's ultimate favorite products. And according to the singer, the pads aren't simply only useful for removing makeup. "I use those little pads to clean my face and it leaves enough mineral oil on my skin that it's a good nighttime moisturizer," Parton exclusively shared with First For Women (per Women's Health).

She turned to nature for her makeup hacks

Dolly Parton never failed in executing her makeup looks. In fact, she publicly admitted that she wears makeup often and keeps it on at night. Even on her off days, Parton religiously took the time to sit in front of her vanity mirror to apply makeup to her face. And she wasn't afraid to reveal that she did it not only because she wanted to look pretty for her husband, but because in Parton's mind, first impressions mattered.

What's more, despite speaking the famous quote "It costs a lot of money to look this cheap," the "Islands in the Stream" songstress also believed you did not need to fork out hundreds of dollars for the latest makeup drops in order to look good. Instead, Parton relied on what nature had to offer. Having grown up impoverished, she had to get creative. The singer mentioned using pokeberries to color her lips and fashioning kohl from used matches. "Until I was a teenager, I used red pokeberries for lipstick and a burnt matchstick for eyeliner," Parton candidly wrote in her book, "Dream More: Celebrate The Dreamer in You" (per Into The Gloss).

Never say no to perfume

Similar to makeup, perfume was an absolute non-negotiable for Dolly Parton. Her first-ever perfume was made out of honeysuckle along with her other nature-made lip and eye products. Flash forward to the heights of her career, and Parton never walked out the door without spraying perfume all over herself. In fact, the "Coat of Many Colors" vocalist made a habit out of applying perfume to her larger-than-life wigs as well.

And it wasn't just to smell good either, as Parton's reasoning was more of a sentimental one. For Parton, it's all about that nostalgia factor, while being a great way to jog your memory. "It takes me back to a place," the country icon exclusively shared with Real Simple. "Smell can overwhelm you — in a good or bad way!" Dolly Parton became somewhat of a perfumer herself and credited her Dolly: Scent from Above fragrance as one of her top favorites.

Most importantly of all is to do what makes you happy

The late Dolly Parton was all for self-expression, and while she had plenty of beauty tips, the accomplished artist always held the belief that everyone should do what makes them happy and settled inside. If you're curious about getting Botox or fillers but are still hesitant about it, Parton said to go for it. If you want to style your hair a certain way or prefer goth makeup, then nothing should stop you.

In the singer's opinion, you shouldn't care about what others say about how you choose to express yourself, because your opinion of yourself should be the first priority. "I think it's important that people be comfortable with how they look and with their makeup," Parton admitted exclusively to Real Simple. She added, "If I don't look the way that I want to, then I'm going to feel self-conscious." Dolly Parton had words of wisdom for everyone and everything, and in this, we think she was right on the money.
