In an Instagram Reel she posted to her personal account, the "Cheaper by the Dozen" star is seen sitting in front of the famed Trevi Fountain in Rome. "Any guesses what I wished for ..." Duff wrote teasingly in the caption, as she closed her eyes. With her quintessential Lizzie McGuire bangs proudly on display, fans are being sent into a frenzy with the possibility of a new entry to the "Lizzie McGuire" franchise upcoming. "I hope she meant new Lizzie McGuireeee movieee!" an Instagram user commented hopefully.
Hilary Duff isn't counting out Lizzie McGuire returning just yet
Hilary Duff is having a whole lot of fun in 2026, as she embarks on a tour for the first time in nearly two decades. She's treating everyone to a trip down memory lane, performing "What Dreams Are Made Of" for the first time in history to adoring fans. And it seems to be the precursor for the potential return of Duff as Lizzie McGuire, despite a reboot being canceled back in 2020. Although Duff herself has not given outright confirmation, the "Metamorphosis" hitmaker has admitted she is always open to the idea.
In fact, Duff has a surprising answer to when she'll hop into another "Lizzie McGuire" project. "I feel like I wouldn't do [a reboot] at 40, but I might do it at 60," she exclusively shared with i-D Magazine. But perhaps fans can convince her to do it sooner. But whether a "Lizzie McGuire" reboot is coming or not, Duff makes it clear that she's happy where she is now in life. Despite the backlash Hilary Duff received for her diet in the past and the other challenges she experienced throughout her career, things are certainly looking up for Duff.
