Mod Squad Star Peggy Lipton Was Still A Stunner Decades After The Show Ended
Peggy Lipton was a one of a kind star, who first started out as a fashion model before making it big in Hollywood as an actor. She soared to fame on the hit crime show "The Mod Squad", winning hearts as the beautiful Julia Barnes. For her efforts, Lipton earned critical acclaim for her performance, even earning her four consecutive Golden Globe nominations and a win in 1971. After "The Mod Squad" ended, Lipton maintained a low profile until her death from cancer in 2019, though she did make some onscreen appearances in guest acting roles. Nevertheless, years after her heyday as Julia Barnes, Lipton still maintained her captivating allure.
In one photo taken a year before her death, Lipton was all smiles for the camera. The "Twin Peaks" star seemed to be one of the celebs who confronted aging with confidence, grinning with full teeth and made up with pink lipstick and subtle eye makeup. Despite dealing with her cancer diagnosis time, Lipton appeared to be in high spirits and looked as beautiful as ever.
Peggy Lipton was content with how her life turned out
Peggy Lipton chose to step away from the spotlight, and it isn't something she ever regretted. Initially, her goal was to focus on her children, but after splitting from ex-husband Quincy Jones, she returned to acting and starred in productions like "Twin Peaks" and "The Intern." Although she never reached the same level of fame as she once did on "The Mod Squad", Lipton didn't mind at all, and was grateful for what she had. "My life is wonderful [and] filled with grace. I own a very small home in Los Angeles with a garden for the first time ever, I can cut roses from my own backyard and bring them into the house," Lipton exclusively shared with Georgian Journal.
It's safe to say decades away from public scrutiny helped Lipton rewire what she thought about getting older. "I think part of [aging] is staying in the moment," the four-time Emmy nominee exclusively toldNext Tribe, "If things don't go well in the moment, you have to adjust—and stop beating yourself up for not being `together.' Make change happen."
Though Lipton never confirmed or denied getting any plastic surgery, she did owe her lifelong radiant skin to at least one important practice. Speaking to Oprah Magazine in 2010, she shared that she stopped spending so much time in the sun back in her twenties. "Back then it was more about preventing freckles and wrinkles than cancer," she told the outlet.
