Susan Lucci Doesn't Like The Phrase 'Aging Gracefully' — Here's What She Says Instead
Hollywood can be unforgiving when it comes to aging female celebs. In a way, being labeled as someone who ages gracefully is deemed a positive thing. However, Susan Lucci of "All My Children" fame thinks otherwise. On a segment of Today, Lucci revealed just why she doesn't consider it to be a compliment to be aging with grace. In fact, Lucci thought the phrase is tantamount to giving up in life. Instead, she offers up another alternative.
"Aging with audacity means getting out of your comfort zone. Keep on going forward. Keep on looking your best and feeling your best. Just keep on keeping on. Be you!" Lucci shared with the Today hosts, per AARP. The Emmy winner is nearly 80 and views her long life as a blessing, especially after the death of her husband of 52 years, Helmut Huber. It's no wonder that she believes there's always more to do in life and that aging isn't the end of the world.
Susan Lucci does these things to stay looking amazing in her late 70s
Susan Lucci may be one of the celebs who are aging with confidence, but she does a lot of work to stay fit and active at her age. Of all the different types of workouts available, Lucci practically raves about Pilates and how it has been truly life-changing for her. "[Pilates] really helps the stress, and I wish I had known about that," Lucci exclusively shared in an interview with Hello!. She then elaborated further: "Two weeks into doing Pilates, my cravings changed. Suddenly I did not want any more tacos or cheeseburgers." Although Pilates studios can be expensive, our guide to wall Pilates would be a perfect, cost-effective option.
However, Lucci acknowledged that she does rely on the expertise of a good dermatologist. In fact, the daytime soap star revealed that she gets Botox and believes the results to be worthwhile. "My dermatologist, Ellen Gendler, does a great job—very natural," Lucci praised to NewBeauty. Lucci appears to be living in her truth, doing anything that makes her feel happy, and that's something we should all get behind.
