Princess Eugenie is considered a minor royal and isn't often in the spotlight, yet she has had her fair share of moments that drew public attention. While her marriage to Jack Brooksbank could be counted as one of the royal marriages that made headlines for all the wrong reasons, the princess has been garnering positive press for her courageous stance on physical scars. The royal received a very visible scar at 12 years old after undergoing an intensive operation for scoliosis, which extends from her neck all the way down her spine. But even at a young age, Princess Eugenie was unbothered by it, even showing it off to others.

"I believe scars tell a story about your past and your future, and it's a way of getting rid of a taboo," the royal candidly shared, per People. And that admirable mindset is what pushed Eugenie to proudly display her scar during her wedding in 2018. As seen in the image above, the princess chose a wedding dress with a low back, highlighting the raised scar to the world. Eugenie's fearlessness in displaying her imperfections is something well worth emulating, and showcasing her scar isn't the only courageous thing she's done.

Princess Eugenie has also challenged her family

It's impossible to avoid the news circling Princess Eugenie's father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, whose involvement with the notorious Jeffrey Epstein has resulted in him losing his royal title. And it's certainly difficult to digest such information about one's own family, but Eugenie has reportedly decided to make the brave, yet personally painful decision to steer clear of her father. "There is no contact at all, nothing," a source close to the Princess revealed, per Daily Mail, "It's Brooklyn Beckham level — she has completely cut him off."

Both Eugenie and her older sister, Princess Beatrice, were affected in the aftermath of Andrew's scandal, on top of the fact that Princess Beatrice can't dodge swirling rumors about her marriage. However, Eugenie has chosen to show her bravery by going about her day as normal, even shocking everyone when she popped up at her cousin Peter Phillips' nuptials in June 2026. While the royal is evidently going through difficult times with her family, it's clear that the spine of steel she's had since she was a child has not given out.
