The Books Hallmark Star Lacey Chabert Is Loving For Summer 2026

Though there are already a few whiffs of pumpkin spice in the air, Lacey Chabert is making it clear we're very much still in summer with her seasonal book picks. The Hallmark star recently revealed her summer 2026 reads while speaking on "People In 10," and they're perfect for enjoying the last few weeks of warm weather. The star's been indulging in Jenn McKinley's "Paris Is Always a Good Idea," which is no surprise considering Chabert stars in the Hallmark series adaptation. "Paris is Always a Good Idea" gives us a front row seat to professional fundraiser Chelsea Martin's romantic life. When she finds herself stuck in a rut, she takes a trip to Europe several years after she initially vacationed there as a young adult. We learn that during her earlier travels, she connected with three interesting men; this time around, she's determined to track them down (and find herself).

Chabert has been winding down with 'The Summer Beach' series by Jan Moran too. Moran's collection is packed with light, beachy reads that feature romantic elements and strong, prominent female characters. The most recent, released in May 2026, is "Seabreeze Garden." Our protagonist Ivy uncovers a forgotten plaque on the grounds of the Seabreeze Inn and decides, with some help from her sister, to reinvigorate the gardens around the property that were once thriving. At the same time, Ivy learns about a special woman time has all but forgotten and sets about honoring her legacy. Clearly, Chabert isn't the only one loving the series. It's so popular that Moran already has a 14th book in the wings, "Seabreeze Homecoming," due for release in March 2027. Lacey Chabert's book picks for summer 2026 are uplifting, female-led reads by women authors, and she's clearly keen to pass her passion for the genre down to her daughter. The star told Woman's World in August she and her daughter, Julia Nehdar (who was born in 2016), bond over shared reading time. "I read to her, and I just got her into 'Nancy Drew,' since those were my favorite growing up, so she's really enjoying that," Chabert said. The actor didn't confirm if they plan to read the entire series together, but they mother/daughter duo will have their work cut out for them if they do. Carolyn Keene's "Nancy Drew Mysteries" series is made up of 175 books, released between 1930 and 2003.

But while the contemporary romance novel "Paris Is Always a Good Idea" might be a little too advanced for Nehdar right now, it sounds like Chabert will continue bringing her favorite books to her daughter through the screen. "It makes me happy to work on things my daughter can enjoy," she told People in 2025, referring to her Hallmark projects (despite the red flags we've noticed in Hallmark movies). And, with Chabert being one of the most in demand stars of the network, we can't imagine we'll have long to wait to see her in another Hallmark movie or TV show adapted from a book.
