Remember Bernadette Peters? The Singer, Actress, & Stage Star Is Still A Knockout

She's one of those actors who is instantly recognizable the moment you spot her. With her signature mass of springy red curls, girl-next-door good looks, and whimsical-sounding voice, Bernadette Peters knows how to leave a lasting impression every time she appears on a Broadway stage or the big screen.

These days, the actor, singer, and Broadway legend is keeping busy performing across the U.S. and beyond as a solo singer while also serving as co-founder of Broadway Barks – a star-studded annual animal adoption event in New York. She stays just as busy updating social media fans about her upcoming projects and, in doing so, shows that she's still the knockout she was back in her prime. The two-time Tony Award winner may be in her late 70s, but she certainly doesn't look it. Like those celebs who look gorgeous with their natural hair, Peters is still rocking her bouncy red curls (not a gray hair in sight) along with a youthful glow.

In one of her most recent public appearances, at the 2026 Tony Awards (below), the "Pennies From Heaven" star also stunned on the blue carpet in a figure-hugging, satin-and-sheer red gown styled by Zac Posen, showing off her toned-looking silhouette. Sharing the look on Instagram, Peters drew plenty of compliments from fans, many of whom couldn't get over her timeless appearance. "You are ageless, ma'am," one person commented on the post. Another said, "Simply gorgeous! You look the same as you did in 1979!" while a third demanded, "I think you owe it to the rest of the world to share your skincare regime!"

Bernadette Is Still A Knockout But Says Feeling Young Matters More

Although Bernadette Peters has never confirmed or denied using any age-defying treatments like Botox, she seems to be uninterested in following an excessive skin care routine to look younger. Instead, she prioritizes feeling her best. "It's nice to look young and fresh, but isn't it better to feel good? To feel younger?" she shared with Today. Whatever makes you feel happy in life, Peters says to start your day with that in mind. Whether it's walking your dog, calling up a friend, or simply eating a delicious meal — "Isn't that good?" she says.

The "Cinderella" actor also explained that maintaining a positive mindset is an important aspect of aging gracefully. It begins with "opening your heart and being able to look at life from a positive aspect," she told Today. "I try to be grateful every morning, I'm grateful every night. And when you're in that space, you're more loving to people and you connect better with people."

Peters did share a few beauty staples with the outlet, noting she uses Le Prunier – Plum Beauty oil, a brightening serum, as well as castor oil on her hands and nails. "I rub it on my hands every night and I've noticed that they're really growing and they're not breaking," she said. For her luscious curls, she uses Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner, stating, "It actually makes your hair curl as it dries without the frizz."
