Queen Camilla's Hairdresser Did One Color Trick That's Perfect Advice For Older Women

Queen Camilla is certainly in good hands when it comes to both beauty and fashion. The British queen would never be caught dead in a fashion faux pas, as evidenced by Queen Camilla's most fashionable outfits. However, the queen consort is also diligent when it comes to maintaining her beauty for the cameras. And it appears that we can thank a large part of it to her hairdresser, Jo Hansford, who has kept meticulous care of the queen's hair in a way that other older women can aspire to as well.

In an exclusive interview with Good Housekeeping, Hansford revealed just how she has done it for over four decades. "I have adapted the queen's hair over a period of time as everyone's skin tone changes as they mature, so you have to soften the hair color in line with this," Hansford detailed to the publication. "I have made Her Majesty the Queen much warmer now, more honey than white blonde." Hansford said Queen Camilla's current shade complements her skin color, adding, "It was a mutual decision between us. The color really suits her and if you see it in real life it looks much softer." So it comes as no surprise that Hansford's presence is a non-negotiable within Queen Camilla's circle, as the royal continues to look her best for public events.

Queen Camilla's hairdresser has more styling advice for older women

Although her schedule is swamped with appointments to style Queen Camilla's hair, Jo Hansford still has time to dole out some much-needed hair advice for other older women who may look at Queen Camilla's hair with envy. Hansford is all in the business of making life easier for women in general, and her words of wisdom are in line with our list of low maintenance haircuts perfect for older women. "As a rule, hair shouldn't fall past the shoulders if you're over 70," she cautioned to Good Housekeeping. "I don't think it is very flattering as it can pull your features down."

And Hansford clearly follows her own advice, ensuring to keep Queen Camilla's hair the same length for years. Moreover, the professional hairstylist reminded everyone of the importance of taking care of your hair as you would your face and body, especially as you get older. "It is vitally important to maintain a decent level of condition if you are having your hair colored regularly," Hansford recommended to the publication. "These can be long appointments, but it is worth it."
