Princess Diana Was Ahead Of The Trends With These Butter Yellow Wimbledon Looks

Princess Diana is an undeniable fashion icon, captivating the wider public with her beauty and grace. Considering that Princess Diana never followed certain royal fashion rules, it's not surprising that she always explored her options to determine what suited her. Rather than merely sticking to a neutral palette, the late royal went with colors that certainly made her stand out in the crowd. On multiple occasions, the Princess of Wales attended galas and other events in butter yellow outfits that, instead of clashing with her hair, actually complemented her very well.

The image above is one such example, with Princess Diana having been photographed in 1995 while attending Wimbledon. The beloved royal wore a soft yellow tailored suit that made her look positively elegant. She paired it with a pair of Chanel stud earrings, a pearl necklace, and a gold watch. Truly, she was ahead of her time when it comes to fashion as well as beauty, as evident with these old school beauty tips from Princess Diana you can still use today.

Princess Diana has whipped out a butter yellow look for the Wimbledon tournament on other occasions, too — specifically when she attended in 1987. As seen in the image above, the beloved royal was pictured at the tournament wearing a tailored butter yellow blazer over a blue polka dot collared blouse. She paired the look with a matching pencil skirt and a pair of gold hoop earrings. But she didn't wear butter yellow exclusively to Wimbledon, as she's worn this color to other official engagements in the past as well.

The late Princess wore a truly gorgeous butter yellow evening gown to a 1985 premiere of the film "2010." She is pictured in the image above stepping out of a car in London in the long-sleeved dress with a plunging V-neckline and exaggerated shoulder pads. She paired the gown with molten gold-heeled pumps, gold clutch, a pearl necklace and a pair of pearl drop earrings. The film premiere was not the only time she wore the Murray Arbeid dress. Diana was also spotted in the puffy gown while on a tour of Australia – showing that even a royal recycles their wardrobe.
