Zoe Saldaña's Advice To Her Younger Self Is All About Loving What's In The Mirror

Zoe Saldaña could be considered one of the best actors in modern Hollywood, known for films such as "Avatar" and "Guardians of the Galaxy". And while Saldaña is still turning heads going makeup-free, her career of over 20 years has given her a certain perspective on life, especially when it comes to Hollywood's beauty expectations. In an exclusive sit-down with InStyle alongside fellow Hollywood legend Demi Moore, the "Colombiana" star was asked what she would say to a younger version of herself if she had the chance.

Saldaña's answer is all rooted in self-love. "Less is more ... and just to feel beautiful in your own skin," she told the publication, "I know it's easier said than done, but it really is the only way to truly be happy, is to not just work with what is facing you in the mirror, but love it. And be happy with it, and be proud of it, and take care of it." The Oscar winner's beauty philosophy hinges on the mindset that accepting yourself and taking care of yourself is a good foundation for building confidence. And with her new role as Lancôme's global ambassador, she'll undoubtedly continue spreading that message to millions around the world.

Zoe Saldaña shares her beauty secrets

Zoe Saldaña has no problems sharing with the world what her beauty routine is and how she gets camera-ready in record time. In a segment of Vogue's "Beauty Secrets", the "Emilia Pérez" actor outlined her very short and simple evening beauty routine. Her skincare routine merely consisted of a toner and a moisturizer, which prompts the question of how many steps is too many in skincare routines today. Yet Saldaña also took the time to demonstrate and emphasize her love for a facial massage using her moisturizer. "I've always had a deep appreciation for a skincare routine," the "Lioness" star said to the camera. "And it's sort of like it's always been my time."

Then, Saldaña moved on to her makeup routine, where she revealed that she favored "a very natural look." The Golden Globe winner showed that she preferred just dabbing concealer to hide imperfections on her skin rather than slathering foundation all over her face. She then moved on to blush and bronzer, before finishing off with lip care. Saldaña underscored how much she likes to keep her routine simple and to the point. "My items are very easy [to use], I don't overbuy, I don't overdo things."
