Known as the "Queen of Pinups," Bettie Page was ahead of her time in many ways. With her jet-black hair, signature bangs, and blue eyes, there was no stopping her. And she was able to maintain her appearance by sticking to a simple but impactful beauty and wellness routine, which can still be used for women today.

In "The Little Book of Bettie: Taking a Page From the Queen of Pinups," it's revealed that Page visited the gym to work out. While this may seem simple today, Page lived in a time when men and women led very different lives. In fact, the gym seemed to be reserved for men, who would sweat and build their muscles, while women used reducing machines to slim their figures.

Page also loved to take walks for her mental health and to keep her curves. And it looks like she was on something by adding walks to her routine. The Arthritis Foundation states that walking helps to improve sleep. Sleeping well helps with skin cell turnover and reduces dark circles around the eyes.  Walking also lightens your mood by increasing endorphins in your body. A better mood means less stress, which may also mean fewer breakouts. Of course, walking also burns calories, which likely helped to keep Page in great shape, on top of her gym workouts.

Bettie Page had an aversion to alcohol

Bettie Page also paid attention to what she ingested, avoiding alcohol intake and smoking. According to Walk-in Dermatology, both alcohol and smoking impact the skin negatively, as they dehydrate it, leading to premature aging by way of wrinkles. Your skin completely transforms when you stop drinking alcohol. For example, your red complexion looks more even, you'll experience less acne, and your dark circles will be less visible.

Page's strict, no alcohol lifestyle may have been rooted in her childhood trauma. Page's father had an alcohol addiction and sexually abused his daughters. This experience likely led to her aversion to alcohol and the lifestyle surrounding it. There are many celebrities in Hollywood who have given up alcohol and reaped the rewards, following in Page's footsteps. Even back then, Page clearly knew what she was doing. She may very well be seen as a role model on how to maintain beauty and a stable lifestyle, and it starts with developing good habits.
