Jerry Hall's Best Advice For Aging Well (& The Tips You Probably Shouldn't Follow)

Jerry Hall is stunning at 70, and she credits much of that to what she doesn't do. For one thing, the iconic supermodel told British Vogue in June 2026, she's staunchly anti-filler. "I'm 70, I should have wrinkles," she insisted, decrying the "scary" Botox-filled faces of the celebrities who attended the Oscars in 2026. "I don't want to scare my grandchildren," she said. Instead, she cites sleep and water as her best tips for keeping her skin youthful as she ages. She also forgoes the gym in favor of the garden.

That said, some of Hall's lifestyle definitely should not be emulated, according to current health guidelines. In the same interview, she unabashedly smokes cigarettes and espouses a love of drinking and derision for sunscreen. Most concerningly, she says she never sees a doctor, partly because she doesn't want to know if something is wrong with her. This is a symptom of care-avoidant health anxiety, and it prevents many patients from getting the care they need. Her professed abstention from eating dessert is almost as alarming. Is it even worth it at that point?

Jerry Hall is committed to staying blond and bodacious, but she won't work too hard for it

In her interview with British Vogue, Jerry Hall expressed her resentment for the expectation that older women should let their hair go gray and cut it shorter, and she certainly walks the walk. She maintains her blond lengths with a little help from Bleach London, the hair care company co-owned by her daughter, Georgia May Jagger. When it comes to non-color care, however, she's as laidback as she is with her health. She only washes her hair once a week, when she also uses an olive oil conditioning treatment.

Hall also told British Vogue that she feels fortunate that "I didn't lose my figure" as she aged, a state of affairs she puts even less effort into. While gardening is indeed a great way to stay physically healthy in your sixties and beyond, her only other exercise is housework. In 2014, she swore to Good Housekeeping that mopping the floors of her 26-room estate gives her the only workout she needs, though it's also frequently supplemented with the kinds of strenuous chores typically confined to the bedroom. Good for her!
