Why Paris Jackson Prefers Shopping For Vintage & Resale Fashion Items
Paris Jackson has grown into her own personal sense of style. Although she has brands dressing her up, she makes each look her own by adding her own aesthetic, whether that's with her bold jewelry, colorful hair (she has had a gorgeous hair transformation over the years), or unique tattoos. But, where does she shop? Well, we can add her to the list of celebs who are sustainable fashion icons, as she recently told Fashionista that she loves vintage shopping.
She told the publication, "I shop both [online and in-store]. My favorite type of shopping would be resale and vintage, especially for the sustainability purposes. I really enjoy buying old animal products because I don't like the idea of an animal having died for one season's worth of popularity and then collecting dust in a store." She also revealed that her favorite vintage store is What Goes Around Comes Around, which is known for selling pre-loved luxury items and brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
Paris Jackson also revealed her favorite designer
When speaking to Fashionista, Paris Jackson also revealed her favorite designer. She shared, "Pretty much anything that [John] Galliano designed while he was at Dior is number one for me. I have so many pairs of pants from that era and so many tops and jackets that it truly is my favorite end-all, be-all. She added, "And I really like old-school Galliano, like the pieces he designed for [his own brand]." She then went on to list some of her favorite Dior pieces, such as a suede trench coat and a vintage dress.
Galliano is a great choice, as he revolutionized the fashion industry by styling underwear as outerwear, bringing slip dresses and sheer garments into fashion. Galliano, who moved on to Maison Margiela before leaving in 2024, also values sustainability. He pushed his team to look through vintage shops for hidden gems and upcycled them into glamorous fashion pieces. He explained on his Maison Margiela podcast, "It's a return to worth and slower fashion, all those things we believe in. Invention with a conscience." If you're looking to be more sustainable yourself, here's how to take a sustainable approach to purging your wardrobe.
