Taraji P. Henson Won't Force A Wardrobe Change As She Ages: 'I'm Going To Do What I Feel'
Taraji P. Henson always keeps it real, and we love her for that. The actor has been in some of our favorite TV shows and movies, including "Empire," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and "Think Like A Man." Now, we can add Henson to the list of older celebs that aren't playing by society's beauty rules. At the time of writing, Henson is 55 years old (although she doesn't look like it at all). In fact, we can add her to the list of older women in Hollywood who are still embracing & celebrating their sexuality.
In an interview on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Henson said, "I want to be the representation for women that your sexy never dies 'till you're in the box ... I'm not going to buy into my career is over, or life for me is over, or sexy is over, or I shouldn't wear this. I'm going to do what I feel." Henson isn't about to let anyone dictate how she ages or lives her life. We applaud her for standing up for herself in such a tough industry, which seems to kick women to the curb as they age.
Taraji P. Henson shared her self-care tips for maintaining her looks and decompressing
Taraji P. Henson prioritizes self-care, which is likely one of the reasons she's maintained her beauty and still looks great at 55. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar in 2025 about her faith, her fitness routine, and taking time to care for herself, Henson told the publication that she trains about eight times per week with her trainer. According to Harvard Health Publishing, exercise positively impacts aging by slowing muscle loss and preventing blood sugar levels from rising.
Henson also said that washing your hair is the 'epitome of self-care.' She spoke to Marie Claire about her daily beauty and self-care routine, saying, "I firmly believe in practicing the act of self-care anytime, anywhere. My rituals range in simplicity: from enjoying a cup of tea and a few minutes of solitude to creating a full at-home spa moment on a Sunday to pamper myself." It sounds like many of her self-care activities are made for decompressing and reducing stress, making it clear that Henson is doing all the right things as she ages!
