Bridget Moynahan's Transformation Since Her Split From Tom Brady

Actor and former model Bridget Moynahan was in a high-profile relationship with football star Tom Brady from early 2004 to 2006. It seemed as though the public just could not get enough of the couple, and both rose to fame in their respective fields. Moynahan landed more movie and TV roles, while Brady helped his team, the New England Patriots, to win the Super Bowl in 2004. However, when their relationship came to an end in 2006, there was a lot of public scrutiny. However, Moynahan has still been able to rise above the split.

Moynahan revealed she was pregnant with Brady's child in 2007, though Brady was already in a new relationship. Moynahan underwent a transformation after her split from Brady, though. She joins the ranks of celebs who have had an epic post-divorce glow-up. It seems to be a trend that female celebrities undergo a transformation once they become single again. Take Kim Kardashian, for example, who underwent a transformation after her divorce from Kanye West. Through a career pivot and learning to co-parent, Moynahan underwent her own transformation that should be celebrated.

She experienced her first high-profile breakup

Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady split in late 2006, her representative told People. The split was reportedly amicable, but shocking to fans. The pair had been together for two years and looked happy together. So, their split came with a lot of public scrutiny and speculation about why they broke up. There was also attention on the fact that Brady quickly began dating Gisele Bündchen.

Admittedly, for Moynahan, navigating the breakup and her pregnancy was a really hard time for her. "Going through that traumatic time of being heartbroken and then being pregnant turned my whole life upside down and inside out and just knocked the wind out of me," she told Harper's Bazaar in 2008.

Fortunately, Moynahan also had support from her family and friends. Her "I, Robot" co-star, Will Smith, for example, was a "great support" to Moynahan. She said,"He picked up that phone faster than anybody to make sure I was okay when things were getting hectic."

She went from being a supermodel to an actress

Bridget Moynahan was a model straight out of high school. She signed with an agency and moved to New York City, spending the 1990s building her modeling career. Her highlights include walking the runway for designers such as Ralph Lauren and Gucci. She was also featured on the covers of magazines, including French Vogue.

She successfully transitioned into an acting career, starring in movies such as "Serendipity" and "Coyote Ugly." But after her breakup with Tom Brady, Moynahan started to land even more lucrative roles. She starred in movies such as "John Wick" and "Ramona and Beezus." She also landed a stable and recurring role as ADA Erin Reagan in "Blue Bloods," which lasted over 14 seasons. Moynahan also co-authored a lifestyle book, "Our Shoes, Our Selves" in 2019. It seems like the breakup didn't impact her career negatively at all.

She navigated pregnancy and motherhood as a single mom

Three months after their split, Bridget Moynahan announced she was pregnant with Tom Brady's baby. By this time, Brady had already moved on from their relationship and was already dating Gisele Bündchen. That left Moynahan was left to navigate the breakup and the pregnancy in the public eye at the same time. She wrote about the experience of being pregnant while under public scrutiny in an essay for the anthology, "Our Shoes, Our Selves." She spoke about how cars and photographers followed her and that it "felt like a threat" (via People). Pregnancy is already difficult, so we can only imagine how tough it is to be in the public eye, too.

Moynahan eventually gave birth to her son, Jack, and opened up about motherhood in a 2008 interview with Harper's Bazaar. During the interview, she spoke about how she initially had an "overwhelming anxiety" when Jack was born, but that it was alright after a while. Moynahan also said she enjoyed pregnancy overall."Being pregnant just felt so good. I was creating life on a daily basis, I felt beautiful, I felt sexy," she shared. It seems like things turned out just fine for Moynahan, despite the situation.

She found happiness and love again

Tom Brady might have moved on quickly after his split from Bridget Moynahan. Moynahan, on the other hand, took her time with dating. She eventually found a partner in Andrew Frankel, a businessman from New York. The two got married in October 2015 and Moynahan gushed to Glamour in 2021 about him, saying, "He's a really good person and a good partner...Luckily, I got everything in the same package."

Frankel has three sons from a previous relationship, and Moynahan had her son Jack, whom she shares with Brady. In the midst of their other relationships, both Brady and Moynahan have managed to successfully co-parent their child and had found supportive partners. Moynahan told People in 2019, "Tom and I made a decision to raise a child together, and we both found partners that not only supported us in raising that child, but also loved our child as if he was their own."
