It seems like aging is a huge topic when it comes to Hollywood. We're often bombarded by news of celebrities doing plastic surgery to look younger or celebrities in Hollywood who have embraced their  graying natural hair color. We can add "One Tree Hill" star Hilarie Burton to the latter list. Burton has noticed, though, that when it comes to aging (especially in Hollywood), women are often the target, not men. In a 2024 interview with Brit + Co, Burton spoke about her experience with perimenopause (we covered the difference between perimenopause vs menopause). She's doing what she can to raise awareness about the topic that's often swept under the rug and help other women navigate that phase of their lives. Burton has also partnered with Olly, for their Mellow Menopause supplements

After speaking about her perimenopause experience, Burton sarcastically quipped, "Yeah, I think it's important to act like a man," since no one considers men too old for Hollywood when they show signs of aging, such as graying. She spoke about how she wanted to act like a man and embrace her natural grays, as her husband, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, did. She also stated how important knowledge of one's body and health is, saying, "I wanted to acknowledge that I know what I'm doing and when I talk about my body, I want to know exactly what I'm talking about." We agree with Burton on this one, and think it's important to be confident and have knowledge of who you are.

Hilarie Burton says that 'One Tree Hill' wasn't as beloved as it is now

While she embraces aging, Burton is set to take on an old role, with reports circulating that "One Tree Hill" will be returning to our screens, The show was on around the same time as other teen dramas, such as "Gilmore Girls" (check out pics of the leading ladies of "Gilmore Girls" then and now) and "The O.C." It was super popular, was watched by millions of people and won multiple Teen Choice Awards. But, as Hilarie Burton remembers, it wasn't as beloved as it is today. When speaking to Brit + Co, she said, "We were the nerds. Like, you would see every other chick get beauty campaigns and things, and we were just kind of the stepchild." Things seem to have changed, though, because "One Tree Hill" love is definitely real.

With the news that "One Tree Hill" is getting a revival on Netflix, we'll be seeing more of Burton as the cool Peyton Sawyer. Deadline reported that there's a sequel in the works, and Sophia Bush and Burton are said to be executive producers. The sequel is set to take place 20 years after the original series ended. While Burton and Bush will be playing their original characters, who are now parents to teenagers, heartthrob Chad Michael Murray will not be returning for the sequel.
