Jennifer Lopez Calls Out Constant Relationship Rumors & We're Cheering On Her Single Girl Era

Jennifer Lopez's love may not cost a thing, but that doesn't mean she's romantically linked to every man who happens to be standing next to her when the paparazzi show up. In the past, she's let the incessant whispers about her love life roll off her back, but now, she's done staying silent. In a June 2 appearance on "Today" promoting her upcoming Netflix film "Office Romance," Lopez showed uncharacteristic exasperation trying to escape relationship rumors about a real-life workplace fling with co-star Brett Goldstein.

When host Savannah Guthrie — who isn't just an accomplished news anchor — told Lopez that the pair's offscreen chemistry was raising eyebrows, her frustration was palpable. "There's never a time when I'm seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don't try to put me with the person," she complained, noting that she'd already been baselessly linked to Kevin Costner earlier in the year. When Guthrie pointed out that Lopez's response wasn't technically a denial and asked point-blank if she was dating Goldstein, Lopez made herself crystal clear. "Not dating," she confirmed.

Jennifer Lopez is ecstatically in her single-girl era

To be fair to the gossipmongers, it's unusual to catch Lopez between steadies for so long. From her year-long 1997 marriage to Ojani Noa to her split from Ben Affleck in 2024, with two more marriages and several paramours in between, she's never taken more than a few months off from romance. That kind of serial monogamy is just one of the many relationship red flags we've learned to avoid thanks to her.

Apparently, she's learned her lesson, too, because after nearly two years of singlehood, Lopez is loving it more than ever. In May 2026, when Jimmy Kimmel asked her on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" if she was single, she declared enthusiastically, "I am!" She added that she wished she'd made the decision to remain unattached sooner, decrying her previous patterns as super unhealthy. It seems she's not only undergone a major style transformation since her Ben Affleck divorce but an emotional one as well.
