Demi Moore Isn't Letting Aging In Hollywood 'Define [Her] Value' & We're Here For The Self-Love

When you pair our culture's obsession with how celebs look with the beauty pressures already endemic in Hollywood, it's understandable why A-list stars would fight against aging. And while some celebrities are owning up to their cosmetic tweaks, others, like Demi Moore, have decided to embrace the realities of aging as much as they can. In fact, Moore's perspective on aging couldn't be further from that of the character she played in the hit film "The Substance". The silver screen veteran sat down for an exclusive interview with People, where she made her views known.

"I have a greater appreciation for all that my body has been through that brought me to now," she candidly told the publication. She then added that insecurities surrounding aging do affect her, like many others, especially when she's standing in front of a mirror. Moore shared, "It doesn't mean that sometimes I look in the mirror and don't go, 'Oh God, I look old,' or 'Oh, my face is falling' — I do. But I can accept that that's where I'm at today." What's more, the Golden Globe-winner revealed that she used to go to extreme lengths to control her appearance, such as doing unrealistically long, unhealthy workout routines. But she's put all that behind her and confidently shared, "I know the difference today is that it doesn't define my value or who I am." This is a refreshing and much-needed stance in a world that's growing beauty-obsessed by the minute.

Demi Moore likes to keep her beauty routine simple

Demi Moore has always been a show-stopping beauty on and off the red carpet, and while aging might not be a concern for her, the "Indecent Proposal" star does put effort into her self-care. But rather than a complicated, multi-step beauty routine that takes hours out of her day, Moore actually prefers a hassle-free skincare regimen. She keeps things pared back with just a cleanser, serum, and moisturizer, telling Harper's Bazaar, "I'm a pretty simple gal, because I think more than anything, it's not how much you do, it's the consistency with which you can do it."

Despite being a global ambassador for beauty brand Lancôme, Moore confessed that she doesn't really have a holy grail product that's a non-negotiable in her beauty routine, aside from her moisturizer. She explained to Harper's Bazaar, "A great moisturizer is one thing I can't do without," continuing, "It's just one thing that, no matter what, I don't leave home without it." And it's clear her no-frills routine is really working for her, because aside from her glowing skin, her grounded, mindful approach to beauty is what shines through the most.
