'I Work Smarter, Not Harder': How Aging Has Impacted Jennifer Lopez's Wellness Routine
Jennifer Lopez has had a glittering career in Hollywood spanning decades. And she's shown that she's still on top of her game, from Lopez's best-dressed moments in her 50s (so far) to her best on-the-go looks. However, it takes a lot of effort to look this good, as seen in this Instagram post she made post-workout in April 2026, where the singer proudly showcased her abs. But the "Selena" star has come out to reveal that she's had to tweak her wellness routine to factor in aging, and that the way she worked out in her 20s is vastly different from how she works out now that she's in her mid-fifties. Plus, there's no denying that it's working for her, seeing how amazing she still looks.
Upon being asked by Gayle King on a CBS Mornings interview about how she keeps looking so good, Lopez acknowledged the effort it takes to stay looking your best as you age. She then added, "I think when I was younger, I was like doing all the things and like, working so hard. And now, I work smarter, not harder." The "Maid in Manhattan" actor sets out realistic goals alongside her trainer, stating that she prioritizes building muscle, since "as we get older, we lose the muscle." Aside from being an A-list actress, Lopez is also an accomplished singer and entertainer. As seen in this promotional Instagram Reel for her Las Vegas residency, it's understandable why Lopez has to keep in tip-top shape at all times.
Jennifer Lopez has no problems splurging on self-care
While Jennifer Lopez certainly doesn't hold back when it comes to taking care of her body, she also applies the same philosophy to her face. The "On The Floor" chart-topper doesn't skimp back on her skincare regimen, revealing, per Vogue, that she goes to get all manner of cosmetic treatments (with prices going as high as $895) with facialist-to-the-stars, Toska Husted, who could also count Queen Rania of Jordan as one of her many elite clients. In fact, Lopez credits her flawless appearance for her show at the 2020 Super Bowl to Husted, and there can be no denying that the singer was glowing as she performed on stage.
But Lopez isn't just content with being in the entertainment industry alone, as she's made a foray into skincare herself. She launched skincare brand JLo Beauty in January 2021, with olive oil as the prime ingredient. Lopez even claims that olive oil was the secret behind why she's aging so gracefully, and that she learned it from her mother. "My mom used to say that olive oil was the cure-all for everything," the "Hustlers" star exclusively shares with Vogue, and she wants everyone to know that she herself is a die-hard user of her own brand. "I use it every day," Lopez says in this Instagram Reel, and it seems she's doing something right, judging by the parade of glamorous images flooding her Instagram account.
