10 Celebs Who Found Their Happily Ever After Later In Life
Some women are lucky enough to find the person they want to spend the rest of their life with before their 30th birthday — but there is no age limit for a happy ever after. Though the United States Census Bureau found the average age of U.S. women walking down the aisle had risen 1.3 years between 2015 and 2025 to 28.4, many celebrities have proven true love can still happen way beyond that. Some, like Ellen DeGeneres, walked down the aisle for the first time in their 50s, while others, like Jane Seymour, found happiness in their 70s after multiple tough divorces and breakups.
Jennifer Aniston has also proven there's no upper age restriction on love. After two marriages (she was wed to Brad Pitt from 2000 until 2005 and to Justin Theroux from 2015 until 2018), she began dating wellness coach Jim Curtis in 2025. And he shared an important message about finding love aged 40 and above in an Instagram video. Curtis responded to a social media user who asked for dating advice after 42, sharing, "Same as you do at 22 and 32, but with more confidence, more experience, and more authenticity. You are not old. First love yourself and recognize that you are the perfect age and that life is not over at 42." He continued, "So start now. Go out, open yourself to love. Make eye contact and smile. Connect with people. And most importantly, love yourself. When you love yourself, you will magnetize more love to you." And that's exactly what these celebrities, who were 45 or older when they found the loves of their lives, did.
Barbra Streisand tied the knot with James Brolin aged 56
Barbra Streisand was first married to actor Elliott Gould from 1963 until 1971, but her true love came years later in the form of another actor, James Brolin. The two tied the knot in 1998 when she was 56 (he was 57) in an understated wedding ceremony that took place in her living room — albeit inside her Malibu mansion. Streisand later revealed on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" that they were initially set up on a blind date. "It took me a few days," she joked about when she knew Brolin was the one for her.
The singer and actor opened up to the Los Angeles Times about finding love later in life during a 1996 interview, suggesting her romance with Brolin mirrored her role in the rom-com "The Mirror Has Two Faces." The movie saw her older character develop a relationship with a co-worker. "I wanted to make an uplifting, life-affirming, hopeful picture about love. And that people do find each other at later ages, that everything's possible," she said. "In a way, my getting together with [Brolin] is life imitating art, like you dream the film and then you manifest the film," she continued, admitting she only became open to entering into another romantic relationship after filming wrapped.
Venus Williams had two weddings (to the same man) aged 45
Tennis superstar Venus Williams was 45 when she had two weddings (one in Italy and one in Florida) with Italian actor Andrea Preti in December 2025. The star confirmed she and Preti were engaged five months earlier in a post-tennis-match interview (via X), where she sweetly referred to him as her fiancée for the first time. The two had met the year prior at an Italian fashion show. In 2026, she proved she's a celeb aging with confidence and made it clear women can truly have it all later in life, as she revealed she was continuing her tennis career in her mid-40s after tying the knot. "I get a lot of joy out of being different or unexpected or bucking the system. I find that thrilling," she told Vogue.
The two have mainly kept their romance out of the spotlight, but Williams got refreshingly honest about being single in her early 40s during a 2021 Cosmopolitan interview. The pro athlete told the outlet she had friends who questioned if she was truly happy without a partner and children, and she confirmed she was. "I'm not desperate and they don't believe me," she said. "They say things like, 'You're going to miss your window.' I'm like, 'Please, relax. You might feel this way, but I don't. I promise you I don't.'"
Helen Hunt reconnected with her ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Nordling in her 50s
Actor Helen Hunt was around 58 when she reconnected with an ex-boyfriend, fellow actor Jeffrey Nordling, in 2022. She told Flow Space they first dated in 1988, sharing, "I always thought he was lovely and sweet and talented and dreamy. We both had very different lives for decades, and then, in some crazy way, found each other again." The couple seemingly first met on the set of the 1988 TV movie "Shooter," which both starred in.
Hunt celebrated the couple's fourth anniversary on Instagram in early 2026 when she shared a snap of them during golden hour, both wearing aviator shades. "...and now we're 4," she wrote alongside a red heart emoji. At the time of writing, the two haven't announced any plans to marry, but the star certainly seems happy and content in her rekindled romance. And these two prove why it's okay to get back with your ex (but only sometimes).
Hunt was previously married to "The Simpsons" and "Friends" actor Hank Azaria. They dated for several years before they headed down the aisle, but divorced in 2000 after 17 months of marriage. That included a six-month separation.
Chloë Sevigny was 46 when she walked down the aisle and became a mom for the first time
Chloë Sevigny got married for the first time to Siniša Mačković when she was 46 in March 2020. The actor confirmed the big news via Instagram in celebration of their first wedding anniversary. She included a photo that appeared to be taken on their big day, which confirmed their nuptials were pretty low-key. Sevigny wore a monochrome black ensemble (aside from her white veil), including a long-sleeve dress and long boots. The "American Horror Story" star was pregnant with their first child at the time, who was born in May 2020. Sevigny confirmed their baby girl's birth via an Instagram photo of herself and her new husband holding their new bundle of joy, writing, "Welcome to the world Vanja Sevigny Mačković." Two years after their first wedding amid the coronavirus pandemic, the two tied the knot for a second time with what appeared to be a bigger event.
Sevigny and Mačković opened up about their relationship in an interview with Cultured in 2022, where the Golden Globe winner revealed they were introduced by a friend and bonded over shared interests, like art. "I was single for a while. I wouldn't say I was really on the hunt, but I was open to trying new things," she said. Mačković recalled the intense attraction between the two before they even had their first date. "We locked eyes and kept looking at each other for a while. Then after that we didn't really speak for a minute but we were asking our friends about each other," he said.
Kim Cattrall had an intimate wedding at 69
Former "Sex and the City" star Kim Cattrall didn't have the easiest road to happily ever after, as she was married three times before finding true love. The actor first wed Larry Davis in 1977, though their marriage was annulled in 1979. She was then married to Andre J. Lyson from 1982 until 1989, and to Mark Levinson from 1998 to 2004. Cattrall also famously dated a politician, as she romanced Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau in the '80s. But it wasn't until she met former actor Russell Thomas that she found true love.
The two first crossed paths in 2016 when Cattrall was 60 and they appeared on the BBC Radio series "Woman's Hour." The actor opened up about their sweet romance in a candid interview with People four years later, sharing, "It's just so easy. I'm very comfortable around him. I love him. And he was worth waiting for." Five years later, Cattrall told The Times of their then almost decade-long romance, "We've had a blast. We've just had so much fun." The actor also appeared to confirm her relationship had helped her deal with grief, including the death of her brother. "At the other end of it was this incredible, fun playmate," she said.
In 2025, the two got married when Cattrall was 69 and Thomas was 55, in a very small London ceremony (People confirmed the couple only had 12 guests). The following Valentine's Day, Cattrall celebrated their love on Instagram. The star shared a photo of herself and Thomas smiling alongside the caption, "To all the lovers out there. Enjoy the day!"
Niecy Nash tied the knot with Jessica Betts at 50
Niecy Nash was married to Don Nash from 1994 until 2007 and to Jay Tucker from 2011 until 2020 before she found true love with Jessica Betts. The "Reno 911!" star confirmed their nuptials took place amid the coronavirus pandemic via an Instagram post. "Mrs. Carol Denise Betts," she wrote, alongside a sweet photo of both dressed in white at the end of the aisle. Nash later told People she and Betts proposed to one another on the same day.
Nash was 50 when she and Betts (who was 41) tied the knot, and the actor told People she was still married to Tucker when they began developing a platonic friendship. The Emmy winner also opened up about Betts being her first public relationship, though denied feeling suppressed in her sexuality in her previous marriages. "I love who I love. At one point in my life, I married twice and I love those people. And today I love this person," she explained. Nash also opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about how her relationship with Betts differed from her previous ones. "I feel richer. And, if I'm being honest, literally and figuratively. Being loved in a way where you are completely open and fully seen is a different thing, and it's in those spaces and places that allows me to thrive in my business and in my professional life," she said.
And it sounds like the star is happier than ever after finding love in her 50s. "I've got my feet up, I'm looking at the ocean and I've got the greatest love of my life in my peripheral. I couldn't be happier," she said.
Halle Berry got engaged at 59 to Van Hunt after three previous marriages
Halle Berry, an older woman in Hollywood who is still embracing and celebrating her sexuality, is another star whose journey to true love wasn't smooth sailing. The actor had tumultuous relationships before she met singer Van Hunt, including being married to ex-MLB player David Justice between 1993 and 1997, singer and actor Eric Benét from 2001 until 2005, and model Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2016. She also welcomed a child with her former partner, Gabriel Aubry. But her happy ever after came when she and Hunt started dating in 2020, when she was around 54.
Hunt teased he'd proposed to Berry in 2025, when she was 58, during a joint appearance on "Today." The "Monster's Ball" actor explained why they were yet to walk down the aisle, revealing it was at least partly down to both being married before. "We don't feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don't," she admitted. However, the star also shared their previous marriages were the reason she felt they would walk down the aisle again. "Just because, out of the people I've been married to, this is the person I should have married," she explained.
In 2026, the Ohio native confirmed on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" that they'd officially gotten engaged after five years of dating, but confirmed they had yet to pick a wedding date. The Oscar winner shut down claims suggesting she'd turned down his proposal as she proudly flashed her sparkly engagement ring.
Ellen DeGeneres had her first (and only) wedding with Portia de Rossi at 50
Aged 50, comedian, actor, and former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres got married for the first time. She wed fellow actor Portia de Rossi, who was 35, in 2008. DeGeneres, who had previously been in a high-profile romance with the late actor Anne Heche, gushed to People in 2005, "It's the first time that I've known in every cell of my being that I'm with somebody for the rest of my life." DeGeneres also confirmed the two had spoken about becoming wife and wife, but were waiting for same-sex marriage to become legal in the U.S.
She later gushed to People about how grateful she felt to have found such a strong relationship later in life, despite the red flags we've noticed in DeGeneres and de Rossi's romance. "Portia and I constantly say to each other, 'We are so lucky,'" the "Finding Dory" star told the outlet in 2016. "I've gotten to a place where I really am just settled. Really. I know that I'm not going anywhere. She's not going anywhere. I'm not saying the relationship took a while; I'm saying in my life, it took a while to find this."
Holland Taylor was 72 when she went public with her romance with Sarah Paulson
Holland Taylor is proof that love can still manifest in your 70s. The actor was 72 when the world learned about her romance with fellow actor Sarah Paulson, who was 40 at the time. Taylor first opened up about their relationship on the Death, Sex, Money podcast in 2015, where she confirmed she was dating a woman but didn't namecheck the "American Horror Story" star. "There is no question in my mind that it's the most wonderful extraordinary thing that could have ever possibly happened in my life, so the fact that there are differences and things to adjust to [...] is a great privilege," she said of falling in love later in life. Holland also confirmed they'd discussed marriage and admitted their age difference even came as a surprise to her (the two are a few years out of the best age gap for a successful relationship, according to science).
The couple, neither of whom has married before and who came out well into their careers, haven't tied the knot at the time of writing, but have repeatedly shared sweet sentiments about their relationship. Speaking to Town & Country, Paulson opened up about finding love later in life while dating someone significantly older. "Our relationship represents a certain amount of hope and risk. Maybe there's something brave in it. Maybe it encourages others to make brave choices. What else can I say? We love each other," she said.
Jane Seymour told the world '70 is the new 50' after falling in love later in life
Jane Seymour fell in love with musician and doctor John Zambetti in her 70s, and was very open about how she didn't think she'd find love again after her four marriages. Seymour was previously wed to Michael Attenborough for two years from 1971, Geoffrey Planer for just a year until 1978, David Flynn from 1981 until 1992, and James Keach between 1993 and 2015. The "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" actor opened up about her romance with Zambetti in a candid 2025 interview with Hello!, gushing, "I honestly never thought I would find a really committed, healthy, lovely, loving relationship at this time of my life, but I'm incredibly blessed that I have. 70 is the new 50." She also admitted she didn't believe her relationship with Zambetti would have worked for her earlier in life and considered their meeting perfect timing.
The "Live and Let Die" Bond girl revealed she and Zambetti were set up by their children (Seymour has six and Zambetti, who has also been married before, has two) as she revealed they met at a Shwayze gig. "To have life and to have the world that we live in, and to have my grandchildren and friends and work that I love, and a man that I love. That combination gives me joy," she said of getting her happily ever after later.
