6 Celebs Who Look So Different Without Extra Long Lashes

Lash extensions are the ultimate beauty hack, whether you're elevating eye makeup for a trip, a special occasion, or simply speeding up your everyday "five-minute face" routine. It's no surprise, then, that celebrities frequently rely on them for red carpets and public appearances.

In fact, their impact can be so transformative that some celebrities appear almost unrecognizable without extra long lashes. 

It's rare to see Adele without her camera-ready glam; she makes a great case for wearing a full face with what appears to be lashes at low-key affairs like watching the NBA Playoffs. However, the singer has, on rare occasion showed her face without makeup on social media.

In a 2022 Instagram post in honor of her Emmy win for her TV concert special,"Adele: One Night Only," she opted for clean-faced moment. Although she looked different with a distinctively bare eye, (there doesn't even appear to be a drop of mascara), her skin still appeared flawless.

Cardi B is no stranger to the transformative power of wigs and striking makeup looks. Although we're used to seeing the "WAP" rapper donning mile-long lashes — like her look from the 2025 Grammy Awards – she's one of several famous women who has been more than happy to flaunt her un-enhanced eyes online. 

Back in 2021, the rapper reminded fans via a series of Instagram posts, that despite her fame, she remains fully comfortable with herself. In the clip, which she said she filmed a mere 20 minutes after she waking up (as per People), the star says, "This is me without no makeup. No filter... ". She might look different without her lashes, but -with or without full face of makeup-the star still look as glam as ever. 

As one of the stars of the "Wicked" franchise, Ariana Grande is no stranger to a glam, ultra-long lashes, as seen in this photo from Los Angeles premiere of 'Wicked' in 2024. Although it's still rare to catch the superstar sans lashes, she shared one rare, low-fi, no-makeup selfie on Instagram back February 2022, where she looked like a totally different person. Adding to the contrast was the fact that she had her signature dark hair, rather than her 'Glinda' blond, further emphasizing that her makeup and long lashes may have been part of a character choice.

From sleek, red carpet moments to off-duty paparazzi shots, Rihanna has long mastered the art of duality in beauty. Take this photo of her arriving at the AWGE show in 2026, where she sported an elevated glam look complete with a strong winged eyelash. 

On her Instagram, however, back in 2020, the singer swapped out her go-to dramatic styling and makeup for a cornrows hairstyle and a bare face. Notably, the snap also showed the star without her signature long lashes. Still, her eyes were brighter than ever as she smiled for her selfie.

Katy Perry is known for her bold style, so it's not surprising that she also she embraces extra long lashes — like in this photo of her at the glamorous Vanity Fair Oscar Party in 2025. In fact, back in 2012, she even launched her own line of falsies with beauty heavyweight Eylure. That said, the star has never been afraid to sport an eyelash-free look. A clean-faced shot from the beginning of Perry's ascent into stardom from 2002 shows the fresh-faced "Firework" singer without the addition of false lashes, which made her look youthful.

It might seem impossible to imagine Kylie Jenner, beauty-trend setter, founder of billion dollar beauty brand Kylie Cosmetics without her signature long lashes. However, at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, she traded in the extra-glam look and opted for ultra-wispy lashes concentrated at the outer corner of her eyes. Though Jenner looked great in both photos, the effect of ditching her long lashes made her beauty appear much more effortless.
