Young Sheldon Star Annie Potts Has Had A Buzzy Relationship History

Although Annie Potts may shock the public with the fact that her natural color isn't the auburn she's known for, it's her relationship history that's drawn further scrutiny. The "Young Sheldon" star has had a string of romantic relationships that have taken her down the aisle four times, though three of them failed to last long.

Potts was first married to Steven Hartley (1973-1978), then to "The Sopranos" star Greg Antonacci (1978-1979), before tying the knot to assistant director Scott Seneschal (1981-1989). She walked down the aisle for the final time in 1990 to film producer and director James Hayman, to whom Potts is still married as of this report.

The "Designing Women" actor has admitted that after the end of her marriage to Seneschal, she was swearing off marriage forever. However, after meeting Hayman, Potts ended up swallowing her words. The Hollywood veteran shared a son with Seneschal, and noted that Hayman instantly captured her heart after wholeheartedly accepting her son. "When you fall in love with somebody who comes into your surroundings when you have a kid already, [they] have to love both of us," Potts exclusively told Closer, per HELLO, "He was so willing to do that." Potts went on to have two more sons with Hayman after they made it official, and the pair seems to be one of the rare celeb marriages that we think will stand the test of time.

Annie Potts now has a more optimistic outlook on relationships

Annie Potts has a wealth of experience not only when it comes to the movie industry but also in relationships. The Golden Globe nominee is now dishing out relationship advice, and she's not shy about doing so, especially to her kids. In an exclusive sit-down with Glamour, Potts got candid about relationships and how to navigate them. "I've tried to tell [my sons] to be kind to their mates," the "Dangerous Minds" star shares with the publication, "to listen to them and be thoughtful." Potts didn't hold back during the interview, and further revealed that she was afraid that romance was closed to her and that she wasn't going to ever find the right person before meeting Hayman.

Although Potts might have needed our tips on getting back into dating after a divorce, it seems she successfully managed it on her own. In fact, the "Corvette Summer" actor's pessimism about relationships turned into a mantra of perseverance, hope, and the reminder to "endure, endure, endure, endure" in her fourth marriage, while constantly working at "making it work." It's a lesson she has presumably learned from her previous marriages and applied to her over 30-year marriage to Hayman, and in this wholesome Instagram post celebrating Mother's Day, it seems her formula is working.
