Nicole Kidman & Sunday Rose Were The Chicest Mother-Daughter Duo At The 2026 Met Gala

Nicole Kidman and her daughter Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, who she shares with her former husband Keith Urban, were the chicest mother-daughter duo at the 2026 Met Gala. The twosome posed together in equally over the top dresses that fit the Costume Art theme. Ironically though, the duo dressed in rival fashion houses. Kidman continued her penchant for head-turning Met Gala looks in a long, red, sequin gown with feathers from Chanel, while her daughter's blush, floral number was by Dior. We loved how the duo represented their own styles in their unique 'fits without relying too heavily on what the other was wearing.

They still showed some harmony though, as both wore their hair long and straight via looks by celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel. "Hair became a subtle yet beautiful unifying thread, tying their looks together through a shared expression of modern elegance," Abergel told Good Housekeeping U.K. They also put hidden meaning into their clothing. Kidman told Vogue she chose red to represent love, power, and motherhood, while Kidman-Urban expressed her textured dress demonstrated blooming to honor her first time attending the annual event.

Social media users loved seeing the "A Family Affair" actor posing with her second youngest daughter (she shares another daughter, Faith Margaret Kidman-Urban, with Urban and a daughter, Bella Cruise, and a son, Connor Cruise, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise) on the red carpet. "That's a sweet moment. Nicole Kidman and Sunday Rose together on the Met Gala carpet just feels like a calm, elegant pause in all the chaos of the night," one X user wrote. "Stunning duo, love the elegance they bring to the Met Gala!" another commented, as Kidman-Urban continued her gorgeous transformation.

Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban benefitted from a rule bend to get into the Met Gala

Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban's first Met Gala wasn't without an eyebrow raising rule bend. Since 2018, those under 18 haven't been permitted to attend the high-fashion event, but it seemed that rule was overlooked for Nicole Kidman's daughter (who won't turn 18 until July). But those thinking Kidman used her position as co-chair to get her daughter on the guest list would seemingly be wrong, because Kidman-Urban wasn't the only person under 18 on the red carpet. Beyoncé and Jay Z's daughter Blue Ivy also attended the event alongside her mom, walking the red carpet in a monochrome white ensemble from Balenciaga despite being just 14 years old.

Kidman opened up about how her daughter handled the high-pressure of her first Met Gala during a joint interview on the red carpet. "She's been so calm," the actor told Vogue, but admitted the teenager wouldn't be partying the night away like many of the A-List attendees. Instead, she confirmed Kidman-Urban had to be in class the next morning by 8 a.m. Kidman-Urban is probably used to the Cinderella-esque glam lifestyle already though, as this wasn't the only time in recent weeks the teen had put her glad rags on. Kidman-Urban stunned at her high school prom in a dress with an eye-watering price tag less than three weeks earlier.
