Carrie Underwood Can't Stop Making This 'MAGA Makeup' Mistake
While it is undeniable that Carrie Underwood has changed so much since her "American Idol" debut, her makeup style has also undergone a bit of a change in the past several years. Unfortunately, it has not been for the better. But we shouldn't have been so surprised, considering Underwood has hinted at her leanings toward the Donald Trump faction. Although she has never unveiled her political affiliation to the world, the "Before He Cheats" songstress raised eyebrows after she performed "America the Beautiful" at President Trump's inauguration in January 2025. It is too much to say that Underwood has fallen victim to the Mar-a-Lago face trend, but her makeup looks have definitely aligned with the preferences of the MAGA crowd.
And we can see it happening before our eyes on the hit songwriter's Instagram account. As seen in the image above, this particular post is dated to March 2, 2026, promoting "American Idol", Underwood provides a full, up-close shot of her face. Aside from her wrinkle-free forehead, it's her eyebrows that have drawn attention. Here, her eyebrows are overly sculpted and overdrawn, as if they're stamped on. Another post, dated to March 23, also shows this MAGA eyebrow trend, complete with the heavy makeup. Overall, the MAGA makeup look doesn't fit Underwood's face, especially not those eyebrows.

Although her 'MAGA makeup' style has contributed to how different she looks, these side-by-side pics of Carrie Underwood show that her face transformation may be due to more than a switch in makeup techniques. An Instagram clip of Underwood auditioning for "American Idol" has only highlighted the startling changes to Underwood's face, spurring rumors of alleged cosmetic work. However, the only bit of cosmetic work the "Jesus, Take the Wheel" vocalist has publicly admitted to was a 2017 surgery she had to undergo after suffering an accident that led to her needing numerous stitches to repair the damage to her face. Underwood had something to say about her resulting scar, stating to Redbook that she was entertaining the idea of getting "some awesome plastic surgery to make this [scar] look better", but the star had continued to remain tight-lipped about the whole matter.
However, the "Carnival Ride" hitmaker's uncommunicative stance has not stopped experts from weighing in. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Barrett, who operates Barrett Plastic Surgery out of Beverly Hills, stated in a since-deleted TikTok clip that he suspects Underwood may have gotten her nose and lips done. "If you look at the nose, there's more of a swoop and pinched tip, which could indicate a possible rhinoplasty," the surgeon shares with his millions of followers, per Daily Mail. He goes further by adding that Underwood could have also done Botox and fillers as well, and if true, it certainly shows Underwood does not skimp back when it comes to her appearance.
