Getting to know a celeb's list of favorite books is like getting an unfiltered roadmap of how they see the world. Jennie Garth, who released her very own memoir, "I Choose Me: Chasing Joy, Finding Purpose & Embracing Reinvention" in April 2026, has given fans a peek at some of her most memorable reads.

Garth, often known for her role on "Beverly Hills, 90210" and starring opposite Amanda Bynes, who has completely transformed since her child star days, on the hit show "What I Like About You," spoke to Page Six about her favorite books. She revealed that she's a sucker for motivational reads that give readers a powerful message through stories of real life. "Devout: Losing My Faith to Find Myself" by David Archuleta was first on her list. She recommended this book to 'anyone who has ever questioned their path or tried to figure out who they really are.'

Another insightful read on her list is "Women Who Run With Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, PhD. Garth knew she had to read this book, which was one that made her feel like she was 'sitting down with a wise friend.' The actor noted the book shows women 'that your untamed self is powerful and necessary.' Other books among the "What I Like About You" star's favorite reads were "Sister Outsider" by Audre Lorde, which is also one of Natalie Portman's favorite books, and "What's Going Right" by Dr. Paul Conti, MD.

Jennie Garth's 2026 memoir is also a motivational read that's full of truth

In Jennie Garth's interview with Page Six, she explained that a book will instantly become her favorite if it helps her 'feel less alone,' allows her to grow in some way, and '[stays] with [her] long after [she's] turned the last page.' It's clear she wanted readers to feel those exact things when it came to reading her 2026 memoir, "I Choose Me: Chasing Joy, Finding Purpose & Embracing Reinvention," which was selected as an upcoming celeb memoir that readers will want to get their hands on

For the TV star, being able to tell her story through this book functioned as a blueprint for her own healing. She described it as a 'personal journey,' and said the book is 'everything [she's] learned about coming back to [herself] after life changes, redefining who [she wants] to be, and to keep chasing joy."

From navigating motherhood to finding the will to live after great loss, Garth hopes readers will be able to relate to her candid story about what it takes to reclaim one's own identity. Ultimately, the actor wants this book to be a reminder that sometimes, you have to put yourself first, and that life is really about 'finding your own purpose, loving yourself fiercely, and having the courage to build a life that truly feels like yours.'
