Pics Of Kristi Noem And Husband Bryon That Paint An Awkward Picture Of Their Marriage

There are multiple signs Kristi Noem's marriage to Bryon Noem won't make it another year. From Daily Mail exposing Bryon's alleged online double life to New York Magazine's allegations about Kristi's purported romantic relationship with Corey Lewandowski, the Noems' marriage certainly hasn't remained unblemished. But it turns out there are also plenty of photos of the longtime couple (they tied the knot in 1992) that paint an awkward picture of their marriage.

Of course, photos don't always tell the full truth about a relationship, but they can at least give an insight into what's going on behind closed doors. And, in the Noems' case, it doesn't look good. The former secretary of homeland security and her husband have demonstrated some stiff body language and a less than convincing kiss. And photo after photo suggests these two aren't as comfortable around one another as they once were.

Kristi Noem and Bryon Noem did their best to act like a happy, in-love couple in a snap Bryon shared to Instagram in 2024 for their 32nd anniversary. But his awkward right hand gave things away. Kristi sat on his lap and he put his left arm around her, though his right fingers were curled inwards and remained on her shorts. That gave the impression Bryon didn't want to touch her bare thigh, which was odd for a couple of more than three decades.

Also amongst Bryon Noem's carousel of Instagram images celebrating his and Kristi Noem's 32nd anniversary was a candid snap that cut off half her face. It showed them sitting on steps in athletic gear. While Bryon smiled for the selfie, the former South Dakota governor seemed to be mid-gulp of her drink, making it clear he didn't mind sharing unflattering photos of his wife with the world. That was unlikely to have gone down well, as Kristi's alleged plastic surgery suggests she likes to look her best.

Couples' Valentine's Day tributes usually involve sweet, smiley, and cuddly photos. But not Bryon Noem's 2023 upload for Kristi Noem. He shared a professional photo on Instagram that showed him looking down at his wife during a dance with a very serious expression. Though he seemed to be going for the moody and romantic angle, he looked more angry than in love. The upload was a particularly odd choice for the most romantic day of the year considering he had so many years of photos to choose from.

He and Kristi Noem shared a peck by a lake, but their body language seemed seriously stiff. Both were barely leaning in for the PDA moment and, although Kristi placed her hand on his chest, Bryon's right hand seemed tense. He made a loose fist instead of comfortably resting his hand on his wife's arm or waist, while his body was turned away from her as their lips barely met.

Kristi Noem shared a snowy family photo on Instagram in 2025 — but Bryon Noem didn't look like one of the gang. Kristi got in close to her son-in-law (Kassidy Noem Peters' husband Kyle Peters) and Kassidy stood close to him and their daughter on the other side. Bryon though stood several inches away from his wife's back. He didn't lean in toward Kristi either and, though it's not totally clear from the snap, also didn't appear to put his arm around her despite the pic's cozy vibes.

Bryon Noem celebrated his and Kristi Noem's 30th anniversary in 2022 with multiple Instagram images. In one, she didn't seem pleased when her man attempted some light PDA. The political figure seemingly scrunched her nose (potentially because she felt uncomfortable) after Bryon put his arm around her and planted a kiss on her forehead. She also didn't seem to lean in for the sweet moment. PDAs are not for everyone and that's okay, but her body language was so off considering the two had posed, albeit awkwardly, for kissing photos before.

Bryon Noem's 2019 Facebook upload also raised some questions about his marriage to Kristi Noem. Though they were likely trying to keep things professional, they looked more like strangers than husband and wife. So it's no surprise astrology suggests Kristi and Bryon won't last.
