Beyonce & Blue Ivy Are Practically Twins In Side-By-Side Pics
When Beyoncé announced her pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Music Video Awards, the whole world was ecstatic. Although there's no denying the red flags in Beyoncé and Jay-Z's relationship, we were excited to see how their child would grow and progress. We wondered who the child would resemble and whether or not they would become a performer, too. Blue Ivy Carter, the couple's first child, was born on January 7th, 2012. At first, fans of the two music moguls and even publications (such as Yahoo!) commented on Carter's early appearances, stating that she looks like Jay-Z. As Carter grew older, though, the resemblance between her and her mother became striking.
We can all collectively agree that Beyoncé is beautiful. In fact, she's even gorgeous going makeup-free. Carter shares her mother's slightly arched eyebrows and beautiful brown eyes. Their face shape and full lips are also similar. At the 2025 Super Bowl, Carter even left fans confused because she looked exactly like a younger version of Beyoncé. One X user shared a photo of Beyoncé in 2000 alongside Carter and commented: "The resemblance is crazy." We can't help but agree.
Blue Ivy Carter seems to be following in her mom's footsteps
While Blue Ivy Carter has inherited her mother's looks, it also seems to be following in her parents' path as an entertainer. She has already made her debut dancing on stage alongside her mother. In April 2025, Carter joined Beyoncé as she kicked off her Cowboy Carter tour. She danced to "America Has a Problem," as well as a few other songs. Carter's choreography was intense and matched the other dancers.
Beyoncé's youngest daughter, Rumi, also made her stage debut alongside her older sister and her mother during the song, "Protector." In April 2025, Tina Knowles, Beyoncé's mother, opened up to Elle about the decision to let Carter perform onstage. She said it was mostly Beyoncé's decision. She also said: "I tried to encourage everything that [Tina's daughters] wanted to do—every dream that they had. So my personal two cents was, I hope you let her do it. Her mother, being protective of her, thought she was too young." We're glad that Beyoncé eventually allowed Carter on stage, because she rocks it!
