Christina Aguilera's Style Transformation Is A Sight To See

There is no other pop icon like Christina Aguilera. The "Beautiful" singer has given us everything from romantic ballads to songs you can sing along to in the car to dance hits. She has proven that you can be confident, no matter what size you are. She has also given us major style inspiration, with her gorgeous old Hollywood looks. Aguilera has also undergone a stunning transformation over the years, from a Mouseketeer to a pop legend. 

It's truly a sight to see how Aguilera has evolved over the years in terms of style, from her XTina streetwear days to old Hollywood glam and a few hair color changes in between. No matter which look she serves, she always seems to pull it off in a way only she could. Although there are one or two instances we wish we could forget, like her chaotic talk show outfit. Let's turn up her hits and have a look back at some of her most iconic style moments. 

When Christina Aguilera started promoting her self-titled debut album in 1999, she gave off the sweet, girl-next-door vibe. At her appearance at the Wherehouse music store in Beverly Hills, she wore a cardigan and plain white top, which could be considered appropriate for someone her age (about 19 years old back then). Her hair, at the time, was short, straight, and blond. She wore light, natural makeup, having a little fun with some eyeshadow. The look can be considered rather basic compared to her future looks. 

The year 2002 is when Christina Aguilera debuted XTina, her alter ego. This version of the singer was intended to mark her transition from a pop singer to a more mature entertainer. Her new image was highly sexualized and she showed her confidence by wearing revealing outfits. At the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, she showed up in a denim mini skirt and a barely-there halter crop top. The new persona shocked many people, including parents of her teenage listeners. 

At the 2004 Grammy Awards, Christina Aguilera traded in her blond locks for short and curly black hair. She wore a pink dress with a low, v-neck cut as she accepted the Grammy for best female pop vocal performance. She accessorized with layered necklaces and dangling earrings. It's one of the first times we see the singer with the classic look: blond, parted waves, red lipstick, flawless makeup, and a beautiful dress to match. It seems as though she knows the look suits her, too, because it's one that she keeps coming back to. She showed up with flawless makeup, red lipstick, and a beautiful, classy dress. However, something was different about her hair. The singer decided to add fringe bangs to her blond, curly locks. This gave her overall look some edge. We like that she also added some edge by going with a thick, cuff bracelet instead of the typical jewelry that one would expect to go with this sort of dress.

It was clear to see that her face has been totally changed by rumored plastic surgery. She looked as if she had gone back in time, with her long blond hair, face looking younger, and with her noticeable weight loss. Although some critics believed she may be on Ozempic, Aguilera felt that she owed no explanation. She ended 2024 by posting a video on Instagram, which included comments she's received about her appearance. In her caption, she wrote "...you are your OWN STORYTELLER in your OWN LIFE."
