Kate Winslet Was Never The Same After Her First Two Marriages (In The Best Way)

We all know and love Kate Winslet, star of "Titanic" and "Sense & Sensibility," who is also stunning without makeup. We especially love her for the five times she shut down body shamers. Another thing to add to the list of reasons we love her is that, like MacKenzie Scott, she was never the same after her divorce, but in the best way possible.

Winslet has been married three times. The actor married Jim Threapleton in 1998, and they divorced in 2001. Her second marriage was to Sam Mendes in 2003, but they split in 2010, after about seven years together. However, Winslet found love again after her first two marriages. She married Edward Abel Smith in 2012 and the two have been happily married ever since.

It seems as though Winslet doesn't have any regrets about her past marriages. She told Harper's Bazaar UK: "I wouldn't change a thing. Even all the bad bits. Because it doesn't matter how crap times have been; they all matter for something – more than something, actually – because those are the things that shape who you are." Winslet has clearly learned to turn the negatives into positives.

Kate Winslet now leads a private life, as a hands-on mother

Kate Winslet initially struggled with the tabloids early on in her career, particularly surrounding her marriages. She told Wall Street Journal, "No one teaches you, and also no one particularly helps you." She also acknowledged that the tabloids are a very specific issue and that the stories written can't be easily ignored. Winslet also told Wall Street Journal that the tabloids tried to hypothesize as to why her marriages failed, but they could not figure it out. "No one really knows what has happened in my life...And I'm proud of those silences," she shared.

Winslet now leads a more private life with her family. She has three children, one from each of her marriages. According to an interview with Harper's Bazaar, she is known to be a hands-on mother, with no driver or chef, although she could afford it if she really wanted to. She told the publication, "I want them to look back and remember my chicken soup and my packed lunches and that it was me on the school run." She also acknowledges that her husband is a great source of support. We are thrilled that Winslet found love after her two marriages!
