Side-By-Side Photos Of Mindy Kaling Won't Help Those 'Ozempic Face' Rumors
Mindy Kaling is known for being a Hollywood funny woman. The actress had her first big break on "The Office," where she played Kelly Kapoor. She followed that with her own hit show, "The Mindy Project." Although Kaling clearly has a talent for making people laugh, her weight seemed to come up as a topic more often than not. The actress has been looking thinner recently, and her tremendous weight loss is clear to see in side-by-side photos of her.
Many celebrities have lost weight and undergone incredible transformations, thanks to the GLP-1 known as Ozempic. The medication is primarily intended to help manage Type 2 Diabetes, but is commonly used for weight loss. Like most medications, Ozempic has side effects. One of these side effects is referred to as "Ozempic Face," a term possibly coined by dermatologist Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank. According to Dr. Frank, "Ozempic Face" consists of a gaunt appearance, caused by hollowing around the cheekbones. He also noted that some people taking Ozempic are more prone to developing fine lines and wrinkles, as the face becomes less plump. Kaling has addressed her weight and insecurities surrounding it. However, she has never addressed whether she received any external help from Ozempic for her weight loss.
Kaling has not admitted to using Ozempic
According to the Daily Mail UK, Kaling's weight loss journey began when she dropped 40 pounds in 2023. She has since continued to shed even more weight. However, we can't help but notice the changes in her face. When we look at photos of Kaling prior to her weight loss, we see that her face is a lot more plump. Now, her face looks gaunt, with more pronounced smile lines and less subcutaneous fat. That's a typical "Ozempic Face" look. It's no surprise, then, that there are rumors of Kaling using the GLP-1, much like other celebrities who have undergone transformations using the drug.
The actress has not confirmed whether she uses Ozempic or not to assist with her weight loss. In 2023, Kaling opened up to People about her weight loss journey ahead of the launch of her swimwear collection. She said, "I'm feeling really confident in my body these days, which is not something that I've been able to say for my whole life, unfortunately." She also addressed that she finds it "flattering" that people are interested in her body and the changes it has been through, but that she prefers not to speak about it too much.
Kaling has, however, attributed some of the changes to weight training and doing cardio. She also revealed to People that she does 20 miles of either running or hiking each week. On top of that, she has been eating in moderation.
