Karoline Leavitt's Bright Red Blazer Was One Of Her Boldest Fashion Misses

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has worn some outfits that totally missed the mark before, so it comes as no surprise that she's committed another fashion misstep. On March 16, 2026, Leavitt spoke to reporters in Washington, D.C, to address the Strait of Hormuz situation amid the USA's ongoing war with Iran. However, the outfit she wore for the press briefing was eye-catching in all the wrong ways. Clad in an intense, bright red blazer, Leavitt paired it with a bow-tie blouse splattered with crimson flowers that's giving off granny vibes.

It was too much to hope that Leavitt would update her wardrobe away from her outdated Barbiecore looks, as the youngest-ever White House press secretary is married to Nicholas Riccio, who is a whopping 32 years older than her. "I mean it's a very atypical love story, but he's incredible," Leavitt said when being interviewed on "The Megyn Kelly Show." It's understandable then, why instead of dressing her age, Leavitt has opted for frumpy, drab pieces that even Nancy Pelosi, who is in her 80s, would stay far away from.

A mere two days after the red-hot blazer fiasco, Leavitt showed up for another press briefing on March 18 in an outfit that did not flatter her at all. Her decision to wear a long kimono wrap with yet another, frankly hideous, floral pattern smeared all over it is truly mind-boggling. The outfit aged her significantly and while Leavitt is currently pregnant with her second child, it's no reason not to keep her maternity wardrobe polished, as these celebs with iconic maternity fashion did. 

However, Leavitt continued with her string of fashion disasters in another press briefing held at the White House on March 25, 2026. The press secretary confidently strode out before the gathered media in a turquoise, nearly white, ensemble. Although we can breathe a sigh of relief that she wasn't in yet another floral-themed outfit, the color she chose to wear washed her out. Yet she has shown to be capable of being daring in her fashion choices and Leavitt has rocked some leggy looks that not only suited her, but also kept her looking her age for once. It remains to be seen whether Leavitt will start doing the latter again, but based on her track record, that's a tall order.
