5 Ladies Of MAGA That Aren't Falling Victim To 'Mar-A-Lago Face'
Mar-a-Lago face is the plastic surgery trend sweeping through President Donald Trump's inner circle. The aesthetic — overfilled lips, unnaturally smoothed skin, and high-glam makeup — has become practically synonymous with the MAGA political movement. These beauty choices are so extreme that they seem to go beyond a subtle surgical refresh, and enter the territory of political statement. "The women of the Trump movement, their facial disfigurations signal loyalty and a willingness to submit," Laurie Essig, professor of gender, sexuality, and feminist studies at Middlebury College, told the Huff Post.
These days, there are plenty of transformed Republican woman, including Kimberley Guilfoyle, who is unrecognizable in pictures before her Trump days. "The patriarchy gives more access, accolades, and power to women who undergo plastic surgery to look like ghoulish imitations of young women than it does to women who look their age," noted one Reddit user. But there are also a few prominent Republican women who have opted to keep their natural features at least relatively intact.
Usha Vance lets her grays shine through
As the second lady, Usha Vance is one of the most prominent women within the MAGA movement. Despite that, the former lawyer has retained a more natural look. If Vance has gotten any cosmetic procedures, they've been subtle, tasteful, and barely perceptible. For the most part, she appears to be letting herself age gracefully.
While some politicos seem to treat Mar-a-Lago face as an act of fealty, and potentially a way of gaining ground within the administration, Vance doesn't appear to see a new beauty look as a prerequisite. Most notably, while blond hair might be the Mar-a-Lago go-to, Vance has not only opted to continue rocking her dark color, she even lets her gray strands show. "I'm laughing because it would be really hard for me to be blond. That color would look totally absurd," Vance told The Free Press in 2025. "For what it's worth, my reception into this world — and I'm not from a particularly wealthy background, not from a very fashion-oriented background personally or professionally — has been really positive ... People don't seem to care all that much what I look like."
Megyn Kelly has limited herself to tasteful tweaks
Speculation has long swirled that Fox host Megyn Kelly has had a nose job and gotten breast implants. Still, while she might be comfortable going under the knife, the long-time conservative pundit has refrained from embracing the full-on Mar-a-Lago look. She might be blond, but her lips aren't excessively swollen, nor does her face appear pumped full of dermal fillers. Kelly has worn some outfits that fell totally flat, but it seems her taste in beauty is more refined than her taste in fashion since she's embraced a far more timeless look than many other prominent MAGA women.
In fact, Kelly hasn't shied away from criticizing women who dramatically alter their face down at the med spa. She's taken aim at celebrities, including socialite Lauren Sánchez Bezos and actor Erin Moriarty, who have embraced an artificial, hyper-feminine look. "It's not about an objection to plastic surgery, it's about an obsession with turning yourself into this fake version of yourself," Kelly stated on an episode of The Megyn Kelly Show. "I find it like a sign of mental illness ... I really want to get in the heads of these young girls and say, 'Please don't do this.'"
Brooke Rollins seems more focused on her anti-aging routine
Brooke Rollins is a key player in President Donald Trump's political circle, but she's maintained a lower profile than many of the other women in Trump's world. Perhaps that explains why she hasn't gone all in on the Mar-a-Lago look. She appears relatively normal compared to the hyper-feminine features many MAGA women now have. Her lips aren't bulging, and her cheekbones haven't been overly sculpted.
Plastic surgeon Samuel Golpanian told Glam that, while he suspects Rollins had a rhinoplasty at some point, she is likely opting for a more conventional anti-aging beauty routine. "Using retinol or tretinoin and wearing good sunscreen makes a huge difference," he explained in 2025. "Those products improve skin texture, boost collagen, and help prevent early signs of aging." But an approach that focuses on counteracting the signs of aging is actually a bit unusual, since Mar-a-Lago face seems more focused on achieving particular features and is popular even with younger conservative women, such as Karoline Leavitt.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders hasn't radically altered her face
As the former White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has close ties to Donald Trump. But Huckabee Sanders hasn't embraced the exaggerated features and darkly bronzed tan that so many of her cohort have. Instead, the brunette still has relatively thin lips and a nose that doesn't look surgically altered. She has undergone significant weight loss in recent years, and she also has the kind of uncannily smooth skin that hints at fillers and botox. Still, she hasn't undergone the hallmark Mar-a-Lago transformation.
While the Arkansas governor stopped short of going full Mar-a-Lago, that hasn't prevented people from criticizing her altered face. In fact, some think she could glow up a bit more. "I look at Sarah Huckabee Sanders and I think 'man you did all that plastic surgery/injections & wardrobe makeover just to be a soft 4?'" wrote one Threads user.
Tulsi Gabbard
Tulsi Gabbard, director of national intelligence, has smaller lips than most of the women with Mar-a-Lago face. In fact, it seems likely the politician hasn't had any surgical alterations to her face. Even her acne scars are still visible. If Mar-a-Lago face is a political statement, Gabbard seems to be making a different kind. This is particularly apparent with her distinctive hair featuring a streak of gray holding special symbolic meaning. "I actually started going gray in that one spot during and after my first deployment to Iraq," she revealed during an Instagram Live, according to CNN. "And so I keep it as just a remembrance of those who we lost there and the cost of war and why we fight so hard for peace."
While Gabbard might frame it as a natural look she's embraced, she's likely going out of her way to maintain the style. In 2025, hairdresser Shaun Surething told Slate that Gabbard is probably using bleach and extensions to create her signature hair look. "The style signals second wave feminism, and it doesn't seem her politics align very well with that," he explained. "Tulsi's hair is the equal and opposite hair version of blond Mar-a-Lago face."
