Pop icon Jessica Simpson quickly emerged as an early 2000s bombshell with breakout hits such as "I Wanna Love You Forever" (1999) and "I Think I'm in Love with You" (2000). From her pioneering reality TV series "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" in 2003 to her many movie roles throughout the years, she became a bona fide household name. Defying the odds after being diagnosed with dyslexia, Simpson would go on to build a thriving business empire with the "Jessica Simpson Collection," which, despite being sold and later repurchased, has evolved into a highly successful fashion and lifestyle label.

As Simpson continued to dominate the music, entertainment, and fashion scenes, fans remained in a chokehold, captivated by her striking good looks, model-like figure, and signature Southern charm. However, when the mom-of-three experienced significant weight gain during her three pregnancies, like reaching 240 pounds in 2019, she faced intense public scrutiny. With what she called "determined patience," she returned to her pre-pregnancy weight over the course of three years. "I've lost 100 pounds three times. I definitely gain a lot of weight in my pregnancies," she told "The Real" in 2022.

Though the singer has rubbished quick-fix weight loss methods, and instead embarked on a dramatic weight loss transformation through diet and exercise with her personal trainer, she has admitted to taking diet pills in the past. Simpson, however, clapped back at Ozempic claims in 2023, insisting she did not use the off-label drug to lose weight. Even so, the "The Dukes of Hazzard" star's increasingly slender appearance in social media posts raised concern among fans. Not only did she start to look aged, but also gaunt (skeletal) with a hollowed-out facial appearance — textbook characteristics of "Ozempic face."

April 2022: When Jessica Simpson's Ozempic rumors began

During an April 2022 trip to Cabo San Lucas, Simpson showed off her swimsuit body after losing a considerable amount of weight. She told "The Real" hosts that she was overcome by emotion, prompting her to snap this photo (left). In another Instagram photo (right), she reiterated how she had lost 100 pounds, and added, "I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I'm finally spring breakin' wearin' a BIKINI!"

While many congratulated her on the transformation, others weren't convinced by her weight loss testimony. "Yet you've said you had 2 tummy tucks???" one person quipped, referring to a 2015 admission in her memoir Open Book, where she revealed undergoing the procedures. Another fan concluded her new body was "Ozempic 100%" modified.

August 2022: Fans label Simpson an Ozempic victim

That following August, the fun-loving pop singer shared an impromptu selfie, fitted in a barely-there outfit and playful accessories, which drew plenty of praise on Instagram. Still, her noticeably gaunt frame and sharply defined features didn't go unnoticed. "Nice but a little too bony," one person remarked. An even blunter observer wrote, "Latest ozempic victim." While another added, "Wegovy," referring to the semaglutide-based weight loss counterpart to Ozempic approved by the FDA in 2021 — just a short while before, there were rumors of Simpson and other celebs who totally transformed after taking Ozempic and GLP-1's.

January 2023: Jessica Simpson has an undeniable Ozempic face

Several months later, and the "Take My Breath Away" singer continued to display characteristics often linked to "Ozempic face," including volume loss in the midface, and hollow-set eyes and cheeks. For Simpson, who regularly undergoes facial sculpting treatments, Morpheus 8 and Evolve X, and Emface, she didn't appear to show other commonly cited side effects, such as sagging skin and wrinkles.

Yet, when she shared "Found my 8th grade head cheerleader letter jacket" on Instagram in January 2023, fans were focused less on the fact that the 40-something still fit the jacket and more on her altered appearance. "What happened to her? She's unrecognizable," one wrote, while others took to answering that very question. "Ozempic overload" and "Ozempic face," they remarked.

July 2023: Simpson denies Ozempic use

By July 2023, a "Bustle" feature showing behind-the-scenes footage revealed Jessica Simpson's nearly unrecognizable image. She looked very lean with an almost bony-looking silhouette, fueling even more Ozempic speculations. One viewer noted, "Her eyes are sunken into her head. Maybe she did lose too much weight." She addressed the rumor with the outlet after a previous "Pottery Barn Kids" ad went viral because fans accused her of using the weight loss drug. "Oh Lord. I mean, it is not," she said, denying Ozempic use, stating instead that, "It's willpower."

April 2024: The weight loss put her lips on blast

Before the Ozempic rumors took hold, Simpson was already looking like a different version of her former self. Fans and doctors alike attributed her drastic weight transformation to plastic surgery long before Ozempic gained popularity. Another feature that stood out was her bee-stung looking lips, prompting many to assume the obvious — lip fillers. In this April 2024 Instagram post, her ultra-slim frame and drawn-down facial features further accentuated the fullness of her lips. In the comments, a fan asked, "What have you done to your face and lips?" Another responded, "everybody's calling it Ozempic face now."

September 2025: Jessica Simpson going wild on Ozempic

While promoting her label's Women's Bra and Knickers set, the singer bared a lot of skin, modeling the pieces. Fans, again, couldn't resist the urge to comment on alleged Ozempic use, with one saying, "Ozempic going wild these days." While Simpson's physique easily passes for the supermodel type, something remained distinctly unusual about her face. With a leaner overall facial structure, her jawline and chin seemed more pronounced, her eyes looked sunken, and the shape of her face even appeared altered. "What's wrong with her face? Doesn't even look like her," someone noted on this September 2025 Instagram post.

February 2026: Ozempic rumors have gone quiet

Simpson's latest social media snaps show a not-so-skinny looking silhouette, quieting Ozempic speculation. Whether it's a response to ongoing chatter urging her to get help or a personal choice — as echoed in a February 2026 Instagram post to "begin again on purpose" — remains unclear. She appears focused on her latest projects, including her two-part EP, "Nashville Canyon," and a return to the big stage, after more than 15 years. She also has some other collaborations in the pipeline, namely a "Chicken of the Sea" ad campaign, her latest fragrance, Mystic Canyon, and the launch of her clothing label's Spring collection.
