Hallmark Star Lacey Chabert Has Worn Some Outdated Outfits Over The Years
Lacey Chabert has charmed fans since playing the child ingenue Claudia Salinger in "Party of Five" during the '90s, and then became a household name for trying to make "fetch" happen while starring in her iconic "Mean Girls" role. Many watched Chabert grow up before their eyes, and that meant witnessing her many sartorial fails over the years. Even the Hallmark star has admitted to getting her 'fits wrong, but has kept her humor about it. "Believe it or not, I've been in this business since I was 7 years old! While I'd change some of the fashion choices, I wouldn't change the wonderful experiences I've had! So thankful," she wrote in an October 2024 Instagram post.
Chabert is known for wearing flirty midi dresses and flowy shirts, but that doesn't mean she always looks current. The cuts and prints she chooses often age the mom of one, and it's unclear if she's purposefully channeling the retro look. Although the "Winter in Vail" star usually gets her 'fits right, some of Chabert's worst-dressed moments prove even Hallmark Queens can fumble a look.
Lacey Chabert looked like she was cosplaying a doctor in her '80s power blazer
The '80s were a decade defined by power blazers featuring bulky shoulder pads and a long hemline. It looked like Lacey Chabert was channeling her inner "Working Girl" in a 2025 Instagram reel shared by Hallmark, in which she wore a super-long white jacket that engulfed her small frame. Not only was the long silhouette outdated, but the stark white color made Chabert look like she was starring as a doctor in a film. Of all the trendy blazers she could have chosen, this look was just not it.
Lacey Chabert's grandmacore blouse needed some color
Florals don't really ever go out of style, but Lacey Chabert's gray and white blouse, which she wore in October 2024, didn't work. From the dizzy print to the shapeless fit, the shirt looked frumpy on the Hallmark star. A much lighter shade in pastel, or a larger print, would have updated Chabert's OOTD and made her appear years younger. Or, instead of an array of prints, rosettes are the easy way to embrace warm-weather florals without overloading your look.
Lacey Chabert's outfit was so 2010 coded
Skinny jeans were still mainstream in 2019, which is why we're giving Lacey Chabert a pass for wearing them to a SiriusXM appearance that year. However, combined with the high-heeled pumps and structured blazer, this 'fit was straight out of the mid-aughts. During that era, folks loved dressing in business casual, whether they were going to work or having a girls' night out at the club. With Chabert's cute cami, she could have easily fit right in at a party — had it been almost a decade prior.
Lacey Chabert's matchy-matchy look is outdated
Matching your shoes to your outfit is an outdated concept many fashionistas don't adhere to anymore. Sadly, Lacey Chabert didn't get the memo in 2022, when she donned a strapless red gown and a matching pair of sandals. Perhaps she was getting into the holiday spirit since she wore this 'fit in November, but the all-red color scheme was giving Christmas bridesmaid. Metallic gold or nude heels would have looked much more modern, and given her some length as well.
A paisley hoodie was not a good choice for Lacey Chabert
Paisley is a previously outdated trend that's coming back with a vengeance. Lacey Chabert proved that while modeling a paisley hoodie for HSN in 2023 — only the overly busy pattern and soft pink shade looked straight from the 1970s. It didn't help that the piece had thick, bubblegum-hued drawstrings, which gave the sweatshirt an outdated look. Thinner strings and a bold, rich color, such as eggplant, would have instantly revived this pattern.
Wearing all black is not the go-to neutral anymore
Wearing an all-black outfit used to be the coolest way to show off your fashion skills, but Lacey Chabert only ended up looking drab in November 2024 while out in New York City. Her gauzy skirt and trench were fine on their own, as well as the "Lost in Space" star's accessories. However, when worn together, her ensemble seemed flat. These days, there are color mistakes that ruin outfits to avoid so you can still rock a monochromatic 'fit that doesn't look lifeless, such as wearing beige or navy instead, which would have looked chic on Chabert.
