Kim Kardashian's Daughter North West Has Had Quite The Style Transformation

Like any preteen or teenager, finding your personal style can be difficult when you factor in the influences of friends and social media trends — not to mention the added pressure of having mega famous parents. Despite Kim Kardashian never being the same after her divorce from Kanye West, she's focused her energy extensively on her children, starting with North West. The preteen star has had to navigate her childhood with the added layer of difficulty of living in the limelight. With both of her parents being impactful in the fashion industry, it's no surprise that she's caught the fashion bug as well. West's love for fashion led her to attend a fashion design summer camp in 2018, where she was able to take her creativity to the next level with creations that she made herself. She showcased the designs in a fashion show, which was watched by her family.

Her mother has supported her desire to break into the industry more by filing three trademarks within the fashion category under the name "NOR11." Kim Kardashian has also allowed North West to share her creativity with the world through posts of herself on social media, having fun with friends, exploring different styles, and even doing a few dance challenges. With all eyes on her, many have been curious about her style transformation over time. 

From day one, North West has caught our attention with style choices that were selected for her. Brands like Balenciaga, Fendi, and Givenchy were no strangers to her growing up, while she has also rocked sporty looks such as a cute pink Adidas tracksuit. She has been by her mom's side at numerous fashion events, from Paris Fashion Week in 2014 through to the 2025 Venice Film Festival. Kim Kardashian has spoken about how she loves involving her eldest child. "Every time I come to the Met, I love bringing my oldest daughter with me, just to see me get ready and all her aunties are in the hotel, and we're all getting ready together, so it's just a fun few days," Kardashian expressed in a conversation with Vogue correspondent Emma Chamberlain during the Venice Film Festival in 2025. Before entering her preteen era, North West could typically be found rocking her hair straight or in loose curls. Unlike Kim Kardashian, who is nearly unrecognizable without hair extensions, the styles that West has typically opted for are usually within the wheelhouse of being age-appropriate and whimsical. For a while, she was rocking her hair in chunky waist-length braids that fans couldn't get enough of. But at other times, fans have accused Kardashian of straightening West's hair too much and not allowing her to embrace her natural beauty. One Reddit thread even accused Kardashian of using a relaxer on her daughter's hair as a means to make it look straighter. 

In 2025, West debuted a bright turquoise hair color. While it wasn't explicitly stated why she chose this particular color, it seems that she's embracing all that comes with trying something new. "THIS is a great style for North. I am all for her experimenting, but Kim, girl, make sure that s*** is appropriate at least. Like this is great," one Reddit user commented in response to the turquoise look.

What started as colorful and fun has morphed into a rocky-feminine type of vibe. The daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West can often be seen in outfits such as cargo pants and combat boots, with the occasional color in her outfit, alongside her colorful hair.

This new look was debuted on West's personal Instagram account and was caught in person when she attended the Venice Film Festival in 2025 for the first time. The spunky preteen, whose height almost surpassed her mother's in the chunky boots she was wearing, was pictured sporting her turquoise hair pulled back into two pigtails, while wearing a gray dress with safety pin detailing. This is just one of the many examples that fans have been able to see where West isn't only coming into her own, but making a name for herself independently of the "nepo baby" tag.
