4 Signs Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's Marriage Is Hanging On By A Thread

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have had many awkward moments that make us question their relationship, and now sources are claiming their marriage is in deep trouble. The couple has been making headlines even before they got engaged, and subsequently married in 2018. Of course, the couple decided to leave the U.K. altogether and start a new life with their family. But things seem to be falling apart lately, and one of the major issues, according to a source at RadarOnline, seems to be that Harry wants to return to the U.K., even though Meghan has faced so much struggle while living there.

According to Daily Mail and Star Magazine, there are alleged financial problems and a difference in professional trajectories. Additionally, a source who spoke to RadarOnline says Meghan is blaming Harry for their troubles. It sure seems like there is a lot going on with these two. But divorce rumors are nothing new. Even Harry himself shut down the rumors during the New York Times' 2024 DealBook Summit. Nevertheless, there are some tell-tale signs that their marriage is currently in trouble.

The two are facing financial issues

Things did not go as planned for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the professional or financial realms after they left the U.K. The two seem to be spending more than they are making. For starters, according to Express, their security alone costs upwards of two million pounds each year. The Daily Mail revealed that the couple's Archewell Foundation had more expenses than revenue. On top of that, Meghan started a lifestyle brand, "As Ever," but sales have been slow. According to Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack, Harry and Meghan have hundreds of thousands of unsold units of candles, teas, and fruit spreads.

The couple also owns Archewell Productions, which produces their entertainment content, and it has been slipping as well. Sources told People that "With Love, Meghan" will not be expected to return for a third season. This may come as no surprise to viewers, some of whom have found the show to be out of touch and Meghan's personality to be pretentious. The couple had also signed a Spotify deal worth $20 million, but only produced a 12-episode podcast and was not renewed, as revealed through a joint statement by Archewell and Spotify.

Their schedules and paths do not line up

A source told Star that the couple's professional paths "are going in different directions." While Meghan Markle is still interested in Hollywood and building her brand, "As Ever," and Prince Harry "is pouring all his energy into his Invictus Games Foundation and chasing speaking gigs wherever he can find them." It seems as though the two want different things.

According to the source, the couple has also been spending time apart and "are on opposite schedules." That must obviously make it tough to keep their relationship alive. On top of that, the source explains they hang around different groups of people, which creates even more separation between the two. We all know that in order to have a strong foundation for a relationship, goals and paths should be aligned or at least compatible.

Meghan is playing the blame game

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lost two key staff members in December 2025. Their chief U.S. publicist and the executive director of their Archewell Foundation both left their roles. An insider told Radar that Meghan is "in full meltdown mode," explaining that she has been blaming those around her, especially Harry, for her troubles.

Nearly 25 staff members have already departed from Harry and Meghan. According to insiders, there are growing fears that former employees may reveal that Meghan is a bad boss. Royal expert Hilary A. Fordwich claims that Meghan has "broken up with every relationship she's ever had — except for her mother and Harry." So, perhaps the former actress should quit playing the blame game.

Prince Harry allegedly wants to return to the U.K.

Two years after they got married, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle famously stepped down from their senior royal duties and fled the U.K. In August 2020, a representative for the couple confirmed to People that they had moved into a mansion in Montecito, California. Part of the reason for this decision was that the couple wanted privacy, away from the British tabloids, which Meghan sued for misuse of private information, and which Harry had criticized for their ruthless treatment of his wife.

Meghan is originally from California, so the move was akin to returning home for her. However, Harry has spent his whole life in the U.K. He also has his whole family there, including his brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Kate Middleton, whose marriage has strange things that we can't ignore. According to RadarOnline, sources say that Harry and Meghan may be heading for a divorce because of the former's desire to move back to the U.K. Part of his reasoning is that his father, King Charles III, was diagnosed with cancer, and he would like to mend their relationship before it's too late.
