Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Can't Outrun Rumors About Their Marriage

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's relationship got its start some time after the latter joined "The Voice" in 2014, and the rumor mill has been churning out tales ever since. In August 2015, the No Doubt singer split from her then-husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale; and Miranda Lambert. A month prior, Shelton and country musician Miranda Lambert divorced after four years of marriage. And in November of that year, Stefani's representative confirmed to Us Weekly that the two were, in fact, dating. Some cute couple moments followed, including but not limited to Stefani turning her beau's signature into a neon sign for her "Make Me Like You" music video. The pair went on to marry in July 2021.

Over the years, there have been a number of whispers about the state of Stefani and Shelton's relationship — and yes, many of those whispers purport that the couple might be on the outs. In December 2025, an insider claimed to Radar Online, "Gwen and Blake have been spending an awful lot of time apart lately." And that doesn't seem like it will change soon, as Stefani will be heading to Las Vegas for her residency at The Sphere. The tipster continued, "It's become a talking point amongst friends and fans that they're living separate lives. A lot of people think the magic's started to wear off." While some might see this as a relationship issue that signals things aren't working out, it may very well just be yet another rumor about the superstar couple that may or may not hold water.

Stefani and Shelton Have Attempted To Shut Down The Rumors

After the aforementioned Radar Online story was released, a separate unnamed source told People that the stories about Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani potentially being on the outs didn't hold any water. "There is no truth to the split rumors. They've just been juggling demanding schedules," the source said. "When they are together, it's just so obvious how solid they are." While Stefani didn't directly address the split rumors, she did post a video she took while celebrating New Year's Eve with her husband. Shelton has also shut down the story. Per People, on a January 2026 episode of "Country Countdown USA," the country star dismissed the seemingly endless cycle of speculation about his relationship, going so far as to say that he doesn't "believe anything anymore that I see on the internet." The following month, Shelton shared a sweet message to Stefani on X, calling her his "favorite person."

Even though there are some red flags in their marriage, Stefani and Shelton's relationship certainly isn't without green flags. For example, in May 2025, Shelton opened up to People about why their relationship is still going strong. He stated, "I feel like that might be the key to happiness, is that it feels just as exciting and new and happy." We can't help but hope that their love will only continue to inspire more charming music video Easter eggs and, of course, more beautiful songs.
