It's not unusual for stars to become embroiled in high-profile cheating scandals — just ask these celebs who admitted to cheating on their own partners. It's rarer for famous faces to be accused of infidelity and for their relationship to still go the distance though, but it may be more common than you might think. In a 2013 interview with NPR about his book "The Secrets of Surviving Infidelity," psychiatrist Dr. Scott Haltzman said that as many as 40% of American marriages have experienced infidelity, and he claimed over half of those stayed together after. That figure differs by study, but licensed clinical psychologist Joseph Cilona, Psy.D., told SELF, "Despite the ambiguous statistics, it seems reasonable to speculate that more couples are staying together after infidelity than not."
Though infidelity is a dealbreaker for many (and that's more than okay, considering it can be incredibly difficult to trust someone who has cheated before), these celebrities prove it's possible to move past. Just remember that choosing to stay together is an extremely personal decision, and should only be undertaken if both partners truly want to make the relationship work and feel safe doing so.
Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine made it through his flirty messaging scandal
Adam Levine hit headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2022, when multiple women accused him of cheating on his wife, model Behati Prinsloo. Influencer Sumner Stroh shared her story in a since-deleted TikTok, while Prinsloo was pregnant with her and Levine's third child. Stroh claimed, "Essentially, I was having an affair with a man who's married to a Victoria's Secret model[;] Adam and I were seeing each other for about a year" (via Us Weekly). She even claimed the Maroon 5 singer had asked if he could name his unborn child after her. Two more women then came forward, also accusing "The Voice" coach of sending them flirty messages.
Levine addressed the allegations in a statement issued to TMZ, confirming the messages were legit. He denied having an affair, but acknowledged, "I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life." He also stated his intent to stay with Prinsloo, adding, "My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together."
Levine and Prinsloo are still together at the time of writing, and a source told Us Weekly in 2023 he'd worked hard on his relationship. "Adam has done a complete turnaround in how he handles his marriage," they said. "He basically recommitted himself 100[%] to Behati and his family."
David Beckham and Victoria Beckham have spoken about the Rebecca Loos affair drama
There are some strange things in Victoria Beckham and David Beckham's marriage, including the cheating allegations that have hounded David for years. Rebecca Loos claimed they'd had an affair in an interview with British newspaper News of the World in 2004. At the time, David responded via a statement issued to The Guardian that read, "The simple truth is that I am very happily married and have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change this."
David and Victoria later discussed how they struggled around the time of the cheating scandal in the 2023 documentary "Beckham." Victoria admitted, "It was the hardest period for us because it felt like the world was against us" (via BBC News). David said, "There [were] some horrible stories that were difficult to deal with. It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage. I think we both felt at the time that we were, not losing each other, but drowning. I don't know how we got through it, in all honesty." Though David's words were a little vague regarding the cheating rumors, the documentary's director Fisher Stevens claimed on "WTF with Marc Maron" that it was his way of admitting to the affair.
However, Victoria and David remained strong in the face of the chatter. They went on to welcome two more children and celebrated their 26th anniversary in 2025. "I'm so proud of the beautiful family and life we've built together," Victoria wrote on Instagram.
Beyoncé wrote a whole album about Jay-Z's infidelity
The world's attention was firmly on Beyoncé and Jay-Z when she released the album "Lemonade" in 2016, in which she repeatedly referenced being cheated on. That included seemingly describing the woman her husband cheated with as "Becky with the good hair" in the song "Sorry." Jay-Z then alluded to his infidelity on the track "4:44" in 2017, on which he rapped, "Look, I apologize, often womanize [...] Took me too long for this song, I don't deserve you."
That same year, he also came clean during a candid interview with The New York Times. "You have to survive. So you go into survival mode, and when you go into survival mode[,] what happen[s]? You shut down all emotions. So even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can't connect," he said. "In my case, [...] it's deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity," he added, sharing both he and Beyoncé got their feelings out through their music.
In 2018, Jay-Z opened up about his and Beyoncé's decision to stay together on CNN's "The Van Jones Show." After host Van Jones asked why he fought so hard to stay to save his marriage (the two welcomed twins in the wake of his cheating scandal to become parents of three, and are still married at the time of writing), he explained, "Well, it's my soulmate. It's the person I love." He added, "We chose to fight for our love, for our family, to give our kids a different outcome, to break that cycle for Black men and women."
Hillary Clinton explained why she stayed with Bill Clinton after his affair
Former President Bill Clinton had one of the most famous affairs in political history when he stepped out on his wife, Hillary Clinton. Bill entered into a physical relationship with Monica Lewinsky in 1995 and, in a press conference at the time, he apologized to his family, friends, his fellow U.S. citizens — and even Lewinsky.
But despite the whole world knowing about Bill's indiscretion (which is one of the major red flags in the Clintons' marriage), Hillary chose to stay with her husband — and she's been very open about why. In a lengthy 2017 piece for Vogue, she explained, "There were times that I was deeply unsure about whether our marriage could or should survive. But on those days, I asked myself the questions that mattered most to me: Do I still love him? And can I still be in this marriage without becoming unrecognizable to myself — twisted by anger, resentment, or remoteness? The answers were always yes. So I kept going."
Hillary acknowledged their 50th wedding anniversary in 2025 via multiple wedding day photos. "One thing I knew for certain then, and still know now, is that I wanted to navigate the ups and downs and in-betweens with you," she wrote on Instagram.
Sharon Osbourne forgave Ozzy Osbourne's multiple affairs
Sharon Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne were married for 43 years before the latter passed away in 2025 — and his infidelities during that time were no secret. In 2016, Ozzy's hairdresser Michelle Pugh exposed their four-year affair, telling People, "He made me feel like the most beautiful and worshipped woman in the world." In a statement, Ozzy's rep confirmed his infidelity but told People, "He is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their sexual relationship out of context. He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having sexual relationships with. Since his relationship with Ms. Pugh was exposed, Ozzy has gone into intense therapy."
Speaking on "The Talk" later that year, Sharon confirmed she'd chosen to forgive her husband, stating, "It's going to take a long time to trust, but we've been together 36 years, 34 of marriage... I just can't think of my life without him" (via People). She later spoke candidly about her husband's dalliances with other women, stating during her "Sharon Osbourne: Cut The Crap" show in 2024 that she was initially so devastated when his and Pugh's affair went public that she attempted suicide. "He always, always had groupies and I was so used to that. But when he knows the name of the person [...] it is a whole different thing as you are emotionally invested," she said (via Mirror). Still, Sharon remained by Ozzy's side until his final day.
