Alina Habba's Marriage To Gregg Reuben Was Always Destined To End In Divorce

Lawyer and political advisor Alina Habba has officially divorced Gregg Reuben. Daily Mail claimed she filed in February (after they separated in 2025), and it seems this marriage was always destined for divorce. A source claimed that Reuben, who married Habba in December 2020, struggled with the fame she'd gained as the former U.S. attorney of New Jerseyand a staunch supporter of Donald Trump. But there were multiple signs this relationship wasn't going to work.

Reuben's most recent appearance on Habba's Instagram, at the time of writing, was in December 2025 when they posed together for two photos amid the White House's holiday decorations. But they didn't seem overly connected. Though they stood side by side in the first snap, the lawyer's body language didn't suggest she was still happy and in love. Habba leaned away from her man with her head titled to the right — and fans noticed. "See the way she leans away from him in both pics? She's not a fan," one person commented.

The snap also marked a rare appearance for the two, as Reuben has been absent from multiple uploads Habba (who looked so different before joining Trump's team) shared from big events. He wasn't featured in the photos she posted of herself and her kids from the White House's 2025 Easter Roll and he was also missing that July when Habba posted a photo of herself and her kids posing behind a Department of Justice lectern with the caption, "My [love]'s." While a lack of photo evidence isn't a definitive sign he wasn't there, it's odd she wouldn't share snaps of him considering he's proven he's not camera shy.

This isn't Alina Habba's first divorce

Alina Habba's split from Gregg Reuben marks her second divorce. The notorious MAGA lawyer was previously married to fellow lawyer Matthew Eyet, who she met at Widener University's Commonwealth School of Law. The two tied the knot in 2011 but split in 2019 and welcomed two children, a son named Luke and a daughter named Chloe, during their marriage. But they proved you can be friends with your ex when it comes to work as, in addition to coparenting, Eyet appears to have stepped into his former wife's shoes. His LinkedIn lists him as a partner at Madaio Eyet & Associates LLP, which was previously known as Habba Madaio & Associates LLP. Habba is a founding partner of the firm, but left in 2025 to work alongside Donald Trump.

If Habba's first divorce is anything to go by though, it seems she won't let another marriage ending slow her down. During an appearance on "Real Talk with Marissa Streit" in 2024, she opened up how she refused to let breaking up with Eyet impact her life. "I have life experiences that are not typical. I'm divorced, I remarried, I don't fit the perfect box. You know, technically, I'm not supposed to go to church and get communion. That's okay and there's a home for you," she said, suggesting her life experiences only made her stronger.
