HGTV Celebs Who Can't Escape The Ozempic Rumors

Research shows that more than 15 million people were using GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy in the U.S. in 2024. In Hollywood, use of the drug has become so common that it has become a frequent punchline for jokes during award show segments. With the shape of women's bodies always a hot topic, it's not surprising to hear that the dramatic weight-loss side effects of these prescriptions have sparked heated debates online.

Film and TV personalities have been criticized for taking GLP-1 drug to lose weight and amplifying unrealistic beauty standards. "Regardless of what the actual medical or health status is of these actresses, which we don't know, the ultra-thin images, I think, are very painful and can be triggering to someone who has, let's say, seen their child become emaciated from an eating disorder," Oona Hanson, a parent coach and eating disorder specialist told CNN

But it's not only Hollywood actors being accused of taking the injectables. Despite being relatively open about the aesthetic procedures that they have had, HGTV stars are also being criticized for using GLP-1s. Alison Victoria, Egypt Sherrod, Mina Starsiak Hawk, and Lyndsay Lamb are just four HGTV stars plagued by Ozempic rumors.

Egypt Sherrod clapped back at body shamers

Rumors that Egypt Sherrod is another celeb who has fallen victim to the 'Ozempic face' have been spreading since December 2024, after she posted a snap to Instagram that caught fans' attention. The photo depicted the "Married to Real Estate" personality posing in a bodycon red dress while in Costa Rica alongside a caption that read "Yes this waistline is real!" However, despite her effort to avoid body shamers, people in the comments still accused her of using a GLP-1 to achieve her results. "Another Ozempic story!" one person wrote.

Sherrod made sure to shut down the GLP-1 allegations. When asked directly by another person in the comments if she was on Ozempic, Sherrod responded with, "Are you crazy? After all those people getting sick on that and not knowing the affects down the line, absolutely not." She also explained to her followers in the caption that she had been trying the "8/8/8 lifestyle", a health trend that consists of getting eight hours of sleep, completing eight hours of work, and having eight hours of personal time. A few days after the post when live, Sherrod clarified over Instagram reels that she had previously taken weight-loss medications, though she was not specific about the type. The 49-year-old said she had taken slimming drugs, but they were ineffective.

This isn't the first time Sherrod has fired back at body shamers online. "Body shaming is something we should never do, especially when you have no idea what you're talking about," she wrote under an Instagram post in 2022. She also opened up about her ongoing thyroid issues, and told her followers that having a baby over 40 changes your body.

Mina Starsiak Hawk told people to mind their own business

Despite being extremely transparent about the work she has had done on her body, Mina Starsiak Hawk still couldn't escape the Ozempic accusations. In 2025, under one of her bikini posts on Instagram, one person commented, "The shot works. Everyone is doing it." Hawk hit back at Ozempic accusations, and in response to the comment that read, "I can see your GLP-1 injection sites," Hawk wrote, "I can see your hatefulness." While she didn't exactly refute the allegation, she did send a clear message: Mind your own business.

Whether it's surgical or natural, Hawk has always been extremely open and honest about her body changes. In 2021, under an Instagram post that addressed her recent "mommy makeover", the "Good Bones" host wrote, "I had my stomach muscles repaired along with a tummy tuck. I had lipo and they took some of that fat and put it in this odd dent I have in my butt." During a 2023 episode of her podcast "Mina AF", Hawk again confessed to getting liposuction, breast surgery, and a tummy tuck. And in a 2024 Instagram post, the 41-year-old opened up about how her fitness routine had "fallen off the wagon" as a result of her bad mental health.

Alison Victoria's transformed her body by going sober

When Alison Victoria posted a bikini selfie in July 2025, she was accused of taking Ozempic. The Facebook photo showed how the "Windy City Rehab" host had transformed her body into an athletic physique. "Can you say Ozempic?" one person commented. In a recent interview, Victoria didn't mention anything about medication fueling her weight loss; instead it was that her opulent Las Vegas homes allow her to partake in high-intensity pilates workouts whenever she pleases.

"I wake up at 8 a.m. and go right into my home gym for my Lagree workout," Victoria told Chicago Magazine. The 44-year-old went on to explain that she also starts her mornings with her vitamin routine and protein shake ritual. Victoria later credited her current glow to her decision to stop drinking alcohol eight months ago, which has already improved her skin and mental health. Ultimately, Victoria says her goal is live a long life and to look good while doing it.

Lyndsay Lamb was forced to tell all about her health journey

Lyndsay Lamb's followers went wild when she posted an Instagram Reel in 2024 that showed her noticeable weight loss. Lamb's fans expressed their concerns for body change and some accused her of taking GLP-1 medications. "Ozempic is amazing, and you look amazing," one follower commented. Another fan wrote, "Wow! You have lost a lot of weight!!! Don't get too skinny!" But it wasn't injectable medicine that has made Lamb look slimmer.

On an episode of her podcast "Twin Win Unfiltered," the "Unsellable Houses" host said that she saw the online Ozempic comments, and laughed at them. The 45-year-old told listeners, "I've always had, like, health issues and just always struggled with them." To help her manage an "undefined autoimmune-type disorder" that she has struggled with since childhood, Lamb's doctor put her on an "extreme elimination diet." It's a shame Lamb had to open up about her health issues to keep the Ozempic accusations at bay.
