4 Celebs Found Guilty Of Blush Blindness

Just like the eyebrow blindness TikTok trend that's calling out everyone's makeup skills, blush blindness also needs to be addressed. While bright cheeks were a thing of the '80s, the following decades saw blush as just a whisper of color to enhance a person's face. However, beauty influencers of late have brought on a resurgence of blush, using everything from cream, liquid, and powder formulas to create flushed cheeks that defy Mother Nature, and plenty of celebs have hopped onto this trend.

When you look at your favorite star and all you can see is their red face, you know they've reached a level of blush blindness that may require intervention. We get that makeup trends come and go, and we love all the products designed to give us that healthy glow. Saying "yes" to color is always a good choice, but some famous faces need to know when to put the brakes on blush so that they're literally not seeing red.

Olandria Carthen doesn't believe in blush blindness

"Love Island" star Olandria Carthen may have made many heartthrobs blush during her time on Season 7, but it looks like she's the one who's permanently flushed off-camera. The reality star loves to pack on the blush, and she's not afraid to admit it. In November 2025, she shared a GRWM video with Allure, which revealed just how much she applies. "As we all know, I love me some blush," Carthen declared as she applied a bright pink cream color on her cheekbones. "Honestly, there's no such thing as blush blindness," she stated.

We love that Carthen is owning up to her love of bright blush, and it has now become her signature look. Not one to gatekeep fave products, the influencer shared her top makeup picks with Sephora, declaring Wattabrat by Fenty Beauty to be one of the best blushes out there. We weren't surprised to see that the color is a bright bubblegum pink, and if you want to recreate Carthen's rosy cheeks, that's the shade to go for. Just remember that more is more if you aspire to reach her level of blush blindness.

Sabrina Carpenter needs to please, please, please ease up on the blush

Although Sabrina Carpenter is stunning with no makeup and her natural wavy hair, she loves to pack on the products, and has become known for her doll-like aesthetic. That includes tons of dark mascara, rosy lips, and blush to the max. The former Disney star, who has definitely shed her good-girl image with her raunchy dance moves and explicit lyrics, has embraced full glam so much that she often goes overboard. Carpenter has been showing up at events for years with blush not just applied to her cheeks, but her nose and temples as well — always in a bright fuchsia shade.

With the "Manchild" singer's fair skin, all she needs is a whisper of a light pink or peach blush applied on the apples of her cheeks, but it looks like she took a big brush and rubbed the product all over her face. Instead of enhancing her delicate features, the blush becomes the focal point, and all you can focus on is her overly red face, which she then enhances with highlighter. Her heavy makeup might look fine on stage, but during red carpet settings, it's just way too much.

Elle Fanning admitted to having blush blindness

Elle Fanning often likes to keep her makeup minimal, which is why her bright blush stands out even more. Although her porcelain skin doesn't need too much color, the "Maleficent" star clearly loves applying a pop of pink to her cheeks. She might not take the blush too far like other celebs struck with eyebrow blindness, but it's enough that the rosy shade stands out like a sore thumb.

At least Fanning is self-aware enough that she can laugh at her penchant for overdoing the cheek color. "I have blush blindness for sure. More, more, more — there can never be enough!" she shared with Who What Wear. The actor added, "I like it over the bridge of the nose, that little sunburn look. I love blush. I always have." It seems Fanning has honed her makeup skills, and she knows what she likes, even if that means a tad too much blush than necessary.

Nicki Minaj's muddy blush is so unflattering

Nicki Minaj has always been extra, which is why it's unsurprising that this pertains to her makeup as well. The "Anaconda" singer is known for applying loads of foundation, heavy false lashes, and in-your-face blush. Although Minaj usually opts for bright colors, she chose a dark, ruddy shade for the 2025 Met Gala that did nothing to flatter her striking cheekbones. Berry blush is the fall trend to wear right now, but Minaj's looked closer to brown than reddish-purple.

Minaj didn't always have blush blindness, and in fact, she preferred a more natural red-carpet look over a decade ago. However, it appears that she has leaned into the Republican makeup trend and is going for the more-is-more look. We know that the MAGA women love contouring with bronzer, so perhaps that's what Minaj was going for, but all it did was highlight her skin's imperfections and make her look years older.
