During the unforgettable 2015 weather broadcast, the "Today" presenter casually stepped out from behind the news desk wearing a floral, mid-sleeve, buttoned-up top, tucked into a hip-hugging leather mini-skirt. Although the look could be considered trendy for the time, it's understandable why it caught folks' attention, as it didn't exactly match the typical attire for a news anchor, with the hemline hitting at the middle of Dreyer's thigh.
Nearly a decade later, NBC clip resurfaced online via TikTok, with social media users resharing the moment to great enthusiasm. "It's definitely looking HOT in the studio!" one TikTok viewer wrote in the comments. Others chimed in saying, "She is smoking hot!" and "She is absolutely gorgeous," followed by a string of fire emojis. Years later, the NBC anchor hasn't been able to live down this inappropriate on-air outfit. The memorable leather-skirt moment, which may have joined a roster of most inappropriate outfits worn by celebs, still refuses to fade. So far, the resurfaced clip alone has racked up more than 16,000 Likes on a single TikTok repost, with additional shares and reactions continuing to circulate across other platforms.

However, despite that viral moment, Dreyer isn't exactly known for taking risqué fashion risks, nor does she seem interested in making bold statements with controversial celebrity trends. Instead, the children's book author generally opts for conservative, polished looks while covering the news. That said, her fit physique beneath her professional attire is hard to disguise, and often is the reason why she often draws attention. The news anchor can't seem to hide her killer legs, no matter how appropriately tailored her dresses or skirt ensembles are. As such, she continues to spark similar buzz-worthy fashion moments on-air.
During a 2025 news segment, covering singer-songwriter Finneas' performance at the Plaza, Dreyer wore a modest blouse-and-skirt combo, yet still managed to steal some attention with her attractive profile and stunning, toned legs. Fans, of course, were quick to notice. "Dylan Dreyer rocked the plaza! Beautiful!" an Instagram follower commented.
Dreyer's figure – once described by Parade as featuring a "flat tummy and ultra-toned legs" – was once again hard to miss during an August 2015 airing of "Today", when she appeared in an orange and black, body-hugging number. It's no secret that staying in shape is a top priority for the news co-host. She maintains her fit, toned frame with regular gym sessions, Pilates, and Peloton workouts, revealing in a June 2025 Instagram post, that Hillary Hoffman's SOTO Method was her "absolute favorite workout routine".
