Sarah Palin Will Never Escape The Relationship Rumors

To many, Sarah Palin is best known as a notorious republican politician and the first woman to govern Alaska between the years 2006 and 2009. However, to others, she's a woman in the public eye whose personal and romantic life is constantly under a magnifying glass.

Similar to Melania Trump, who can't escape speculation about her love life, Sarah Palin has long been subject to rumors about her relationships. In 2011, Joe McGinniss even published an unofficial biography about them. The journalist's account included a recounting of Palin's alleged one-night-stand with former basketball star Glen Rice, a steamy affair with family friend Brad Hanson, and a drug-filled night with one of her Mat-Su College professors. The book, titled "The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin", caused quite a stir for Palin's high school sweetheart and husband of 31 years, Todd Palin. On separate occasions, Palin and her now ex-husband, accused McGinniss of harassing their family.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, the former Alaska governor clapped back the author while he was writing the book. In a snarky statement, she wrote, "Wonder what kind of material he'll gather while overlooking Piper's [her daughter] bedroom, my little garden, and the family's swimming hole?" (via ABC News). As well as fighting the relationship rumor mill, the former Alaska governor is known for her relentless battles with the media. It's only fitting, then that Palin's connection to former NHL player Ron Duguay, was revealed while she was visiting New York for her defamation trial against The New York Times.

It's no secret that Palin is unafraid to vocalize her political opinions, such as when she expressed her support for building a Mexico-US border wall. However, it seems she doesn't know what to say when questioned about her relationship status with Ron Duguay. When asked by The New York Post in 2022 about her connection to the former hockey player following a report from Page Six that the two were spotted at dinner together, she told the outlet he was her "buddy," noting that they shared hockey as a mutual interest.

Still, evidence of a connection between the pair seems clear. In 2024, Palin hinted at their relationship by sharing a snippet of her Thanksgiving celebrations alongside Duguay on social media. In 2025, the pair was spotted hanging out in New York again while Palin attended her libel retrial against the New York Times. However, as of 2026, Palin has not yet addressed the dating rumors surrounding her relationship with Duguay.

But while Palin has refused to reveal whether she has allowed Duguay out of the "friend zone," the retired hockey player did confirm that the two were a couple. In response to a text message sent by The Daily Beast, asking if he was dating Palin, Duguay replied, "Hi. Yes."As Palin remains silent, and without confirmation on her part, it looks like the media can only hope that she shares another glimpse of her love life on social media soon.
