What The Leading Ladies Of The Pitt Look Like Going Makeup Free

"The Pitt," HBO's hit medical drama, doesn't take a typical silver screen approach to makeup. Unlike other shows, where doctors work at the hospital in full glam makeup, "The Pitt" opts for realism, which means minimal makeup. "We're not trying to be a soap opera where everyone looks like they just walked off the runway and they're now checking your pulse," said actor Isa Briones in an interview with Deadline. "We're supposed to look run down. We're supposed to look like we're on our last legs, which I love. We were not trying to serve some pretty version of what healthcare workers go through."

But, while they might not be rocking contoured cheeks and eyelash extensions, the leading ladies of "The Pitt" are naturally gorgeous. That's obvious on screen, but even more so in real life, when they appear without makeup or specialized lighting. Their off-screen beauty looks also reveal the ways in which the stars are different from their on-screen counterparts, which is why you might be surprised by what characters such as Dr. Melissa King look like in real life.

Katherine LaNasa

On the red carpet, Katherine LaNasa, who plays head charge nurse Dana Evans, favors a bold red lip. But the former ballet dancer is equally beautiful going barefaced, as in a glowing 2023 selfie she shared to Instagram while on vacation in Sicily.

The trip was a celebration after she completed treatment for breast cancer. Her diagnosis profoundly changed her relationship with her body. "The biggest life lesson for me, post-cancer, has been to move stress through my body as quickly as possible," she explained to Women's Health. "Whenever I feel it, I try to do something about it. It can be a bath. It can be breathing alone outside. It can be a yoga class, a walk, a run, a swim, or playing with my kid."

Taylor Dearden

On "The Pitt," Dr. Mel King is played by actor Taylor Deardon. Deardon doesn't wear much makeup to play the busy, neurodivergent doctor, but neither does she wear much in real life. Instead, she seems to prefer natural-looking red carpet makeup with light color. She also often goes barefaced on Instagram, like in a Christmas selfie she shared in 2025 that shows a pretty dusting of freckles. While she might not favor high-glam beauty, it's clear she's a celeb who embraces the bushy brow trend and looks chic doing it.

Fiona Dourif

Fiona Dourif is the actor behind Dr. Cassie McKay, but in real life, she's the gorgeous daughter of actor Brad Dourif. It's clear she's not overly precious about beauty, since she gleefully shared an X post with a backstage snap of herself with wild pigtails, calling it "my most flattering portrait." She also happily donned layers of prosthetics to play her father's most famous character, "Chucky" serial killer Charles Lee Ray, for the television series, "Chucky."

Supriya Ganesh

Supriya Ganesh, the actor who portrays Dr. Samira Mohan, believes in holistic beauty, which is part of why she is so stunning. "Thank you to Joseph Pilates and the sun," she wrote in caption for a 2024 Instagram selfie that showed the star barefaced and positively glowing in a bikini. She considers sleep and healthy eating to be key parts of her beauty routine, and she doesn't mess around with unproven ingredients. "I'm a big believer in going to your dermatologist for skin care, as opposed to going to the store," Ganesh told New Beauty.

Isa Briones

It's not surprising that actor Isa Briones, who plays Dr. Trinity Santos, is naturally gorgeous — after all, she started out as a model. She appears without makeup in an Instagram photo from 2024, and her dewy skin and delicate brows immediately steal the spotlight. Briones is Filipino-American, and her unique beauty initially made it difficult to find screen roles as a child actor. "It was a time when interracial couples were on screen a little bit, but it wasn't super common," she told WWD. "And in that world, it was usually either they wanted someone in the blonde, blue-eyed family, or the fully Chinese family, and it was like, I don't fit into either of those."

Shabana Azeez

In "The Pitt," Shabana Hazeez plays medical student Victoria Javadi. In real life, on the red carpet, Hazeez can absolutely crush a Glambot. But the actor is also gorgeous going makeup-free. In 2025, she shared an Instagram shot of herself barefaced while standing outside her dressing room, and it's clear that her flawless skin and striking eyes don't need enhancement.

While she's naturally beautiful, a glance at Azeez's social media reveals she appreciates a rosy lip color and smoky eyeliner. In that way, she seems to have plenty in common with her own screen character, who she calls a "girl's girl." "She loves pop music. She loves glossy American teen shows. And she's really smart. Not 'but' — 'and,'" she told Collider.

Sepideh Moafi

While Sepideh Moafi only joined "The Pitt" in the second season, she told The Hollywood Reporter that makeup was key in helping her hit the ground running as Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi. "The hair and makeup teams were amazing, they were like, 'We got you girl,'" she said. "The experience helped me get into her shoes even more, because that feeling is what it's like to be an emergency physician: you never know what's going to happen."

Off screen, Moafi is naturally stunning, too, as in a 2020 photo she shared to Instagram thanking essential workers. She has strong brows, captivating dark eyes, and her naturally curly hair is envy-inducing with caramel highlights, which are among our favorite colors that will pump up your basic brunette.
